I had an interview once and told the guy I had a Clio, to which he replied Cup? I said no, Trophy, and he actually knew what it was. There then followed a comprehensive chat about all things cars but I never got offered the job.
These are departure times:
7.30am - Chieveley Services (M4 / A34)
8am - Leigh Delamere Services (M4)
8.15am - Layby on Acton Turville Road, just off the A46, a few hundred metres north of M4 J18
We'll be leaving the layby at 8.15am and by the time we've got there, queued, got in & found the...
I would have thought DAB still requires an aerial, but you might be able to pick up some stations if the signal is strong.
As Scott says, the BAND button is likely the way to go, or a button that is FM/DAB.
At the end of the day it's only a car, who gives a shít?
If you already own a V6 then one less on the roads makes yours even more desirable, and if you aspire to own a Vee then keep saving because this isn't the one for you.
Wow, just wow. That's a great write-up Darren, of what I'm sure was a superb trip. I'm now off to start planning!
The biggest drawback for me is that it's 400 miles from home to Glasgow, which is no great shakes, but having been north of the border for 3/4/5 days it's one hell of a slog back...
I drive an E46 330i, albeit in Touring guise, and I've also got a 182 Trophy.
It's pretty much all been covered but the two are totally incomparable. The Beemer wafts along in sixth gear and the smooth delivery of the straight six gives smiles, and so does the noise, but it's more of a smug...
Car looks great and I really like the red on the front and rear end, but not so much on the bonnet, not on the roof, and definitely not on the skirts.
And I've got to agree with Kyle - lose the C L I O badge from the rear.
Apart from that it looks fantastic, and I bet the AD08Rs improve the...
I'm coming from Newbury and will be at these places at these times:
7.30am - Chieveley Services (M4 / A34)
8am - Leigh Delamere Services (M4)
8.15am - Layby on Acton Turville Road, just off the A46, a few hundred metres north of M4 J18
If you want to meet elsewhere then crack on, see you on...
This car is a serious credit to you, it's bloody lovely especially considering how you bought it. Good effort Chris, it really makes me want to get my Trophy done white with red graphics.
And so many other people too! Either of you received any dodgy PMs clearly meant for the other? ;) Christopher Christopher.
Anthracite Turinis look like they were made for that car, they should have been standard fit for that colour. It's a no-brainer for me,
I'll talk to you about mine at...
Yay!
TimR26 - can you buy tickets on the gate and still get on the stand?
For those wanting to meet up and convoy to the stand, how about the following:
7.30am - Chieveley Services (M4 / A34)
8am - Leigh Delamere Services (M4)
8.15am - Layby on Acton Turville Road, just off the A46, a few...
I really like that shape, and agree with cat171 on de-badging it. Looks like you've cleaned it up a fair amount, good effort, I just hope it stays that clean for more than a few hours ;)
I'm really disappointed I won't be able to make it this year, as like others, I still haven't been to a CSS yet, and the amount of effort you're putting in for everyone is admirable! Fingers crossed 2015 will be my time but sadly this year I'll be at Edgbaston for the Twenty20 finals day.
Welcome aboard, enjoy it!
And if you're free then come and join as many Trophy owners as we can get together:
