Agreed. Only popped back in for a quick check to see how we are progressing and WOW! 13 pages already:)
What a journey. Chapster5, your head must be hurting by now surely?
Oh boy - just skimmed through this thread, which is quite difficult with all the `sub-aguments` going on about network switches/RAID and the like
I undertand your WANT to learn but you really do need to understand the basic requirements (and fundementals to achieve this) before going any...
That looks great Dan. And I find the iPhone 4s takes pretty good picture too, for a phone.
Just a thought. I see you have got new tyres on the front since we put the ASTs on- is the rotation correct on the drivers side?
Nice work with the carbon wrap too- I told you the hair dryer works...
Lol
In EVO magazine a few months back I think he documented the finance details on this car. Iirc the monthly repayments are rather high;)
Stunning motor mind, and he obviously has a passion for Epic Porsches; fair play
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Nice write up! Car looks incredible; a credit to you and all involved with the build:)
Getting back into GT5 of late. Not so much the racing, as the ai is crap, but just general time trialling, trying to improve handling / messing about.
Own both GT legends and GTR2 on PC with Logitec Pro force feedback wheel. Most realistic sim I own. Infant after my last track day at Donington...
To be honest the above IP addressing schemes seem a little weird to me. I would have thought that you would want all of your devices on the same network using a consistent default gateway. 192.168.x.0/24 as an example of a network. Default gateways must be in the same network range as the...
Peter,
Very interesting! Sounds like you have/are doing very well.
I work for a Network services company. Core business is maintenance but we also offer professional services amongst an array of other things too. More LAN/WAN than carrier based though.
I work in the Managed Services team...
Even though you are saving the file to the NAS they are going through the laptop as that is the device that is performing the copy/download function. As your laptop is connected wirelessly and wifi is a shared domain where only one device can communicate over the air at any given time this is...
Pete,
I've noticed you answer a lot of the networking type posts. What line of service are you in, I'm presuming ISP/Carrrier?
I'l was also looking for a good networking forum the other day (LAN-WAN-security orientated) across multi-vendor platforms. I mainly deal with Cisco, HP, Juniper etc...
That's good quality service by the ISP then!
As Danny said listen for crackling on the line, always testing plugged into the master socket. Dial 1 to clear the dial tone to make it easier. Then test each micro filter one at a time, plugged into the master socket to see if any extra noise is...
If it was me, thinking along Pete182 lines here, just to be sure I would try and get your hands on a decent router plugged directly into the master socket. I know TT have sent a replacement router out to you but they aren't all that great. I've seen similar things to you on a TT supplied router...
LOL - sounds like you are getting nearer!
I presume you are accessing the extender, during setup, via a wired Ethernet connection - that is what i would do.
To recap:
1 - set you wired NIC on your laptop to 192.168.1.241 255.255.255.0
2 - patch cable to Extender and browse to 192.168.1.240
3 -...
Have you got the setup instructions? If not:
http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&docid=d303a665b1dc4181980c6c30f8a83b1f_Setting_up_the_Range_Expander_Using_Windows_7__Vista_or_XP.xml
That IP address is because your laptop is not obtaining a valid IP address...
The link above won't give wifi in the lounge though - unless I missed the detail in the spec. They merely extend your wired LAN in a very convienent manner.
As TheEvilGiraffe asked, does your HH have to stay in the office. If so, due to the location of your master socket/phone extension then...
Sounds like you have thought of a methodical and entirely reasonable approach to me.
I did attend a site survey once, a couple of years ago, and we used a cisco AP mounted on heavy-duty tripod to ascertain positions etc. Cannot remember the software we have but essentially its a Cisco WIFI card...
Bit of info, including flow results, in my project thread.
After putting ours on a flow bench it looked like the upper needed a bit more work to be matched to the lower RS manifold (this had been matched correctly to the head already). Thought i would have a look myself and have a go. Ideally i...
Nothing wrong with old kit. I still have similar vintage speakers to you - Mission m71 on atacama stands. Going back a few years earlier than that I bought, and still have, a Marantz CD63
Would love to invest in a proper surround setup instead of my Sony 1 box system:(
Wow! First time I have seen this project. Lovely components used throughout your build.
Those wishbones look a bit special too- although better photos are needed to do them justice:)
LOL - you really have got too much time on your hands!
I hope you are going to mount knackered piston number 4 in there for maximum effect though! Sounds like it could end up looking like some kind of "Clio bafta" award to me:)
Please, please tell me it's going on your fireplace!
Hi Andy,
Thanks for carrying on with this work. I have read your post a few times trying to get my head around the results-I now think I know what you are saying. At the end of the day the TB isn't reducing the performance by any great margin.
Even so, I think I will remove the step Pre and...
I'm sure I recognise this car off bmwowner site. Was it Steve who set up the Vanos overhaul service and sold this to buy an e39 M5? If so, he had a project thread for this car and spent quite a lot of money on it.
Mine (Evo coupe) had 178k on it when I got rid of it and it still pulled like a...
