Morning,
Im wondering if someone has a 1*2 head lying around and could measure something for me please? Mine is currently away and I would like to know the approx length of the inlet port; gasket face to valve seat/back of valve? I'm trying to work out total runner length.
Cheers,
Nick
Depends what you are responsible for doing on them. I wouldn't know about the differences regarding an installation from scratch but day to day policy management and debugging they are very similar. Infact, I would say the Checkpoint GUI's are a little nicer than the Juniper equivilant. No...
Alright Tommy. Are you a member on bmwforum with similar username? Geoff Steel M3 engine in 328?
If so very nice! And welcome along to cliosport:) these Clio's are pretty good fun on track by the way:)
If our Clio was ready earlier I would have jumped at this! Brilliant value and something a little different than the normal trackday. Venue is so small when you first turn up but huge amounts of fun and quite a challenge to get a quick time.
Tony- I'm sure you could make a great day of this as...
Well this thread has certainly mmade me think if nothing else:)
I wondered if Chip would comment on it as I know he has done this type of thing before- custom inlets etc. I take on board that by moving the TB I could risk creating an uneven distribution of air to each runner. Something I don't...
Getting some pretty good info in here now. thanks guys!
@NothloopCup - Looking at photo's on the net i did wonder if the 197 was shorter than the 182 plenum. It certainly appears to stop shorter in comparison to the rocker cover. I will need to measure the space around the bulkhead to see what...
Superb answer! Just what I was looking for! Thank you.
Now I know the ports require so much work that's giving me more reason to modify what we already have. Need to take some measurements to see what's achievable and what other things might need to be moved.
Cheers.
Haha. I thought about this once but concluded that you would probably gunk up the throttle body over time. Not sure how you would package a filter inside a plenum suitable for a clio either. I think the std or V6 boxes are upto the job anyway, it's the plenum that could be improved upon...
Yes. Looked at RS2 kit and must say I am pretty impressed by the quality of the design and build. However, I don't want to spend that much money. Modding a 182 inlet won't cost that much except time.
Its just interesting that Renault chose to change the throttle body angle when revising the...
Hi Folks,
Im interested in improving airflow of the 182 Upper plenum by repositioning the throttle body to a similar position to the 197 inlet.
See my artistic impression below :)
Obviously the coil pack would need to be repositioned and a certain ammount of fab work required to achieve...
Well done for passing! If it was me - try and use the bits you have learnt in real world scenarios if you have the opportunity to do so. Gain experience etc, don't get too hung up on passing the next accreditation. Just make sure you pass one CCNP exam before your CCNA expires in 3 years:(...
Mike,
I have just been out to the garage to have a quick measure. 450 will get us covered from the bottom of the black bulk head cover all the way down to the rack. So 450 x 500 looks fine to me. Might aswell get it ordered.
Nick
Like that orange hose - could do with one on mine:)
Wouldnt get rid of the standard airbox just yet if i was you! they are quite good at what they do on these
Hmm - it probably wont be ready to be honest Sam.
I'm thinking a couple of weeks until we get the engine? - then the fun of fitting it, running it in, then getting it mapped properly.
Cheers Jonny - cannot wait:)
You planning any soon? - also have you been tinkering with yours over winter, thought i read that you are looking to do something with new throttle body or something? I think your car deserves a project thread!
UPDATE #14 - A little bit of prep work
It's been quite a while since I have needed to write an update for our project track car but today the Clio got wheeled out of my garage for the first time in nearly 3 months!
It sees sunlight:)
As the engine build could be complete in a couple of...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Good work mate. Like the look of the powder coated parts. I'm currently thinking of what parts to paint or just tidy up before we get our engine back. Will be interested to see what yours looks like when it's in. Make sure you get some pics up!
Most definately. I'm not sure what spring rates we have on our GAZ setup but they weren't brilliant on track unless you wound the rear rebound quite a way up the dial. Car ultimately understeered quite early on exiting 3rd gear corners on track etc
We now have pure motorsport top mounts and...
Possible quote of the entire thread:)
I started chuckling right towards the start when there was mention of vlans, port security, god dam it even IDS was mentioned at one point lol. Then there was mention of OSI models and access layers. all for 5 users initially.
