    Aux Belt Tensioner Spring

You could, yes but why would you? Also, if you ever look at an auto tensioner unit whilst the engine is running you will see it moving slightly.

Rough estimate of time taken for Clio 197 headlight change?

It takes all of 10mins to get the bumper shield off (wheels off, arch liners off) and a further 5mins to take a light off and put it back again.

    help required please!

A Vac leak would cause engine speed to rise not fall. This is, I am certain, is the ECU getting the command from the brake pedal switch to cut C/C. I've seen it a few times but its normally on the 172 Cup. Usually a short to + somewhere in the loom causing the 5v ref voltage to be constantly...

    help required please!

Yep, it'll be the ECU getting a signal to make it cut power... It sounds like it thinks your moving. Needs the wiring checking

Do you mean the car actually stalls or do you mean the tacho needle just drops to 0?

Oil pressure and stop light coming on

You can change the switch BUT that won't tell you if there's an actual problem with the oil pump/oil pressure. If there is, continuing to drive it around will do serious damage to the engine. Ideally, you want the engines oil pressure measured mechanically to make sure it's in spec - It's your...

throttle won't work. just ticks over at 2000rpm

We do fix a few of these each month. Simple enough but you really need a scope to prove you've actually "fixed" it

throttle won't work. just ticks over at 2000rpm

It's not the pedal, nor the TB. It'll be wiring related I'm afraid so check all connections are tight, clean and free from corrosion.

Does indeed look like the bearing has failed. How old?

    starting issue

Like I said, without equipment to see what's actually not happening when it happens, you are just going to be left scratching your head.

    bilsteins for rallying ?

I guess it depends on the stage conditions but I believe you want something with a fair bit of travel and maybe remote reservoirs.

    bilsteins for rallying ?

The BC's don't seem to get much love on here, maybe because they're so late to the game or possibly because people think they are a budget brand but believe me, they're not. They are however ore suited to circuit work than rallying. One thing I like is they have huge scope for customisation and...

    strange noise from engine bay

Hard to say without hearing/seeing the car but my guess... water pump
  23. MicKPM

    starting issue

Without certain equipment though you're going to be guessing. Sometimes guessing/changing a common part is fine or is an exceptable gamble. Paying for a proper diagnostic session, not a code reading session, can be money well spent as it will tell you exactly what is wrong.
  24. MicKPM

    starting issue

The pump is one thing, pressure regulation is another... Same assembly but not the same thing. You really should have it looked at though as it could be electrical or mechanical.

    starting issue

It could also be a fuel pump/pressure related issue.

    Best monitors for a MBP?

I was in a similar position a month ago and didn't want to buy a TBD but I'm glad I did because it's awesome. Granted, it's just a 27" monitor but it also has the Lightning ports which are brilliant if you have external drives. If you're not bothered about size, screen resolutions or any of the...

HELP!!!!! Clio clutch pedal not returning

Check the pressure dampener on the hydraulic supply line first isn't leaking. Then if that's okay check for fluid coming from the wrap hole in the underside of the gearbox. If it's the dampener leaking then its a pretty cheap fix but you have to route the pipe work correctly and then bleed the...
