Well they are replacing the ball joint on the nearside where the noise is coming from. They heard the noise and found the ball-joint was leaking grease, so i will hopefully have it back tomorrow. I really hope its just that.

You should really get onto your insurance company and get a courtesy car sorted. As they will wait a few weeks too see if it's found before they start to think about giving you any money.

I wouldn't of thought the washers would help, as they allow more play in the top mounts. I'll see what happens, but it may be a option to try. Its in the dealers today, I just need them to get the car warmed up in traffic really, so they can hear it.

Thanks for the advice Ben. On my top gearbox mount, one of the bolts had already sheared before I had chance to tighten them up. I was hoping it was the problem, but I've had that sorted out and it is still there. I'll mention what you have said to the dealer tomorrow.
