Petrol wise, it is really cheap to run. I always get 350+ to a tank.
Plus tyres and brakes are relatively cheap.
But I agree with maintaining it, there is always something wrong with these cars.
My step-dad has an XK8 and don't think he ever goes above 70mph, none of them drive them hard as they aren't that sort of car.
His is an auto, so it's takes some speed away.
I would of thought a straight line drag, the Jag with have the edge at the top end, but they only have a BHP/Ton of...
Yep!
It's 12k miles or 2 years in between services.
As above 72k is a big service and 36k will cost you a bit more than a normal service with the Aux belt.
Yeah I use to see Tim's in top corner every week at Uni, when I got in Car Park 1.
Car Park 20 is a joke, I had to get in my van through the boot when I was out there last year, as two heaps were about a couple inches either side of the van.
I use to hate leaving my 172 out there.
I normally average around 38mpg to work and back, thats including queuing in traffic for about a mile or two then motorway for 15miles at 80mph+ then a B-road blast.
I expect yours will get better with more miles.
The MPG will probably get better with the more miles I expect.
It would be good to know what sort of MPG you get with 20,000 on the clock.
The thing thats Megane 225 fuel comsumption.
As I do quite a few miles now, so I do think about fuel comsumption when looking at a new car

AG Shampoo isn't very good for a dirty car as you have hardly any surbs, so more chance of scratching the paint.
Considering it's not exactly cheap you can get a much better shampoo for your money.
You will get your full amount you paid on the invoice as Dave said.
Your insurance company will pay you what they think the value is the gap insurance will make the difference.
Therefore you should have £16,650 to spend on a new car.
What have the insurance company said, how long do you...
Well they are replacing the ball joint on the nearside where the noise is coming from.
They heard the noise and found the ball-joint was leaking grease, so i will hopefully have it back tomorrow.
I really hope its just that.
You should really get onto your insurance company and get a courtesy car sorted.
As they will wait a few weeks too see if it's found before they start to think about giving you any money.
I know what you mean. I just don't think they are allowed to stay out driving about for long.
I took them for a quick spin this morning, but i said it pointless really unless they can drive it into town through traffic.
I'll let you know what happens.
I wouldn't of thought the washers would help, as they allow more play in the top mounts.
I'll see what happens, but it may be a option to try.
Its in the dealers today, I just need them to get the car warmed up in traffic really, so they can hear it.
Thanks for the advice Ben.
On my top gearbox mount, one of the bolts had already sheared before I had chance to tighten them up. I was hoping it was the problem, but I've had that sorted out and it is still there.
I'll mention what you have said to the dealer tomorrow.
Does the steering creek when turning in traffic?
Check some of my previous posts, i'm having the same problem as it started off creeking and now its started knocking.
