Must say Gally, Used Z8 quite a lot until i moved to pro detailer for cost reasons. Got myself some C2 concentrated the other week. Instead of the usual 25ml product to 500ml water, thought id go for 60ml product 500ml water and i cant recommend it enough. Id say it would out run Z8 in every way...
Wash marring is your problem there mate and IPA is to get rid of oils after polishing. You need a final finish polish going over it. Washing with a decent shampoo should remove the oils if its product residue.
My girlfriend had the same problem last yr but just with sap which is a nightmare. A couple of layers of aquartz was put on the roof as its the strongest coating that you can buy apart from Gtecniqs C1. Its more or less impenetrable so cleaning it off was easy enough. Lew
I guess it is Richy, Id buy iron x all day long if its pricetag was a little more suitable. Id use upto 250ml on every car that i do. Based on say average of 6 cars per week, thats a few quid!!
Have a look at cleanyourcar.co.uk and have a browse around the site. Your eyes will soon open, lol. Its all about budget mate. If you wanted a wax for over 5 grand a pot, there is one suited for you also!!!
Thats because most decent stuff is PH neutral but with a high ph value. From my experience of using iron x, it is really good stuff but soon disappears in the bottled form. I am now using the brake duster and is just as effective with a lower price tag ;)
Just go with what polish suits you mate, my recomendation is stick with what you already use if your already getting results by hand. Toby has put his combo forward. I personally use menzerna and 3m, also gtechniqs system as my main choice nowadays. I have most pads, purely because i work on...
Had a lot of karchers over time and have all gone bang or something has gone wrong. I only ever seem to trust the expensive ones now as a good buy. Bought myself a Nilfisk and havent looked back. Quality machine for the money
^^ How nice not to be arsed reading!! Lmao! He has had experience with Sfx range and has seen results by hand with what he has already so it was just to build in with what he had left ;)
Even this would do you if price isnt an issue http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/polishing-machine/das-6-dual-action-polisher-sonus-kit/prod_520.html
If your just after getting some luster from the paint then i wouldnt recommend that you compound the car. A single stage polish would give the results your after. A combination of a polish and a refining product would do the trick on most polishing pads and still remove most swirling.
Polishing...
As said above, i used the P21s that has been rebranded to R222 a few years back before i switched to sealants and its good value for money for what you get. I can only expect the new P21s to be better. Durabilty from the R222 will be around the 2 week mark. I can only guess that the P21s has...
From a pro detailer Jonny??? For an enhancement detail (single stage) you will be looking at minimum £200 and will need your car for the day. Full correction Would usually see you closer to the £400 mark and would need your car roughly 2 days if its a proper full correction. If he isnt a pro...
Tar would stick to it yes but it shouldnt stick like it usually does. With any good sealants, i find that a weak solution of valet pro orange pre wash is good on an area, leave for a min and wash with your mitt as you usually would but dont press hard or you will marr the paint. A bit of...
I wouldnt argue with your opinion at all mate. Thats the way you roll. The way i see it on my own car is: I look at keeping my car from new for a good few years meaning polishing will be only very necessary when it needs to be done. You run out of clearcoat and your on for a respray. A resprayed...
Some find it harder than others to pick up certain things. With a beginner given any polishing tools, damage is always very likely. There will be a very high percentage of people who dont want to ask questions and would rather have a go at their car and post the mess up afterwards. There will be...
Im not sure of the limitations of a dent removal specialist but that would seem a too bigger job for them to do it in my eyes, especially the quarter panel. The passenger door possibly could be beaten out and resprayed (around £200) If the rear quarter panel is replaced, then that section runs...
Asking if the paint is thinner is not a stupid question but you have put it into different context. All paint types vary paint depth readings, including the same manufacturer paints. If you car has had previous owners, there is no way of you guessing if it has been polished or not without a...
Jet washing them is the way forward!!!! I always work some fabric cleaner into mine and leave for 10 mins, then pull the full length of the belt outside and get my missus to press it against the pillar inside. Dont forget to put a microfibre underneath the belt on the sill so your not dragging...
Nice one Russ. Its very good stuff and i bought it when it first came out. I rate very highly of this stuff yet some people dont like it too much because it doesnt sheet as quickly as some waxes do. Tight beading does drop off after 6 weeks or so and sheeting becomes a little slower but i top...
