You got a budget mate? Depends what you want to spend. Ill be happy for you to come and have a look at my collection if your ever round the middleton area ;)
Re: What have you ordered?
Rotary is superb mate. Very very light. Used a few pads and they seem very good. I normally use soft pads but a few of these are hard which ill have to get used to. The P1 polish was a big suprise. Broke down really well and finished dust free. Just need to spend a...
Re: What have you ordered?
As said in another post, went to Tim at CYC today and got myself:
Compact rotary kit with pads and P1
Full range of CYC 80mm spot pads
Orange pre wash
Gliptone leather twins
Leather brush
Sonus cockpit detailer
Blackhole for the cheap customers
Few free samples...
Seen as though it was my birthday today, went down to Huddersfield and spent a good £250 with Tim including a few free samples. One being his only sample of the new aquartz PERL!!!:D Got the new compact rotary, superb machine as you said Gally ;) The pads seem like they are up to much abusing...
Very hard paint indeed. My dads bonnet took me nearly 3 hours alone to get good results with a rotary, trying 3m pads, then sonus and then settled for the cg hex pads for some reason as they wasnt hardly marring the paint after compounding
If you had ur DA and i had my rotary polishing identical cars doing a full correction, i would finish hours before you. Same with an enhancement. DA's are great for single stage machining as it wont take as much clearcoat away as a rotary would, but the right combo on a rotary would overcome...
Yeah sorry, put a few wrong figures in there!!! A diesel zs does it in 11.2 so uve still got to make up 3 seconds on a map to match a standard st which isnt possible.
A remapped diesel zs would never stay with the fez st in any gear, moving or standing. i had a petrol zs with just a back box and my mates remapped diesel was only just infront (sometimes by a car length) Alls i can say is that it must be a good remap knocking 4 secs off your 0-60 time. The...
I thought id jump in and give a hand, seen as tho JD accidentally always posts answers first ;) What exactly do you want to do with these light swirls Andy? You can either fill them with a glaze and top with a wax which will hide 90% of them, but when your wax starts running thin then you will...
Hopefully it will get sorted now mate. Had an issue with mine and they didnt want to know and kep ignoring me so i got RUK involved. I got a response from them 2 days after.
Quick update: Managed to bag myself the best of show in the 60's catagory at theNW indoor classic / vintage, sports & performance show at "event city" in Trafford Park for 2011. Thats 3 show awards under my belt for the past 3 years!! Good times!!!!!!
Try getitng to the 3k barrier and having 8 sealants, 20 pads and 5 detailing sprays to choose from!! The term nowadays is "the more you spend, the less youve got"
Ive heard of 4 months on a single coat with beading and sheeting evident. Its great value for money Dave and i doubt you would find anything better in its price range. With the combo used, expect the 12 month barrier.
You never mensioned a wax in previous posts. U were stating how s**t certain sealants were and clearly all have different expectancy periods, with aquartz not even being in the same margin at all. You cant expect to apply a sealant and it last for 12 months just like that. Just because a sealant...
Theres 3m, meguiars and one called nikken are the most widely used. The 3 have very little differences but i use nikken as i find that it stays wet for longer and a sheet of most grits lasts for ages.
Due to the fact that most of these detailers have hydrphobic properties then beading wont really be on the positive side of things and will always look out of shape. All depends what your comparing them against. Aquartz is already diluted and isnt a long term sealant which you might be getting...
Very nice finish i must say. Beading results after a few weeks doesnt suprise me for the cost but being able be applied over any wax too is quite interesting. Try a quick detailer over it next time you wash it mate and report back with any difference if its made any. Lew
Good effort mate! Id recommend you using 3000 grit after any wetsanding as you can sometimes still see scar marks and you also get a flatter, sharp finish. Not slating your work at all mate as we all have to try it once. The 2 scars on the back bumper that are left will need going over with 3000...
I diluted 30ml product to make 500ml of detailer (5ml over recommended ratio) and one application will see you around 1-2 weeks at best. Beads and sheets quite well on unprotected paint as well being diluted, but i can only compare it to the aquartz reload and thats £18 just for 500ml diluted so...
There will be good comments mate no doubt about that. Depending how deep the scratches are, i can only imagine the markings under false lighting will look a little on the bodge side of things as you will clearly see the levels that are raised and filled. This method would also come in cheaper...
I find it very rewarding and have always loved it since i was young but i dont find 12 hr sessions relaxing at all. The finishing lsp's are the best time as you know youve got nothing else to do afterwards!!!
