whats is need to make the F7P (clio 16v lump) to 2ltrs/williams spec?
so far i know you need
- the willy/diesel crank
- Willy pistons and rings
- Williams (or similar large) sump
what else?
joe,
or anyone else who cares to comment,
i light of the recent renault price cuts, im going to try pricing the bits needed to take the F7P to F7R spec, as we all know its the longer throw crank and willy pistons and rings, but what else would i need?
im ringing them tomorrow...
justto confirm, (as many of you know)
the willy has a lower rev limit because it gains its additional 200ccs buy using a longer throw crank, therefore allowing the pistons to travel further in the smae bore, to up the rev limit significantly would be risky, and not somthing i would do without...

i will also need rings i guess,
what is shot-peend?
i was told that the engine is modern enoughn so that balancing would not be needed because the tolloerances are so fine etc, although if new willy pistons are bought balancing is easy as it already dis-assembled?
ben im edging ack towards the 2ltr idea, if im spending that sort of money i would like big increases, also renaul;t are slashing thier prices on 16v/willy bits, so i, wondering if i could pick up cheaper than previously anticipated williams crank and pistons? i would be keen to spend that sort...
in an unusuall move by renault they seem to have slashed thier prices fro 16v willy bits, i bought a new front bumper for £100+vat today, i was quoted £220+vat less then a year ago,
it good but i can only assume they are clearing stock so therefore it wont be long before we wont be able to...
i saw them again today on a Y plate leon, they are sexy as hell, i reckon if the height is similar they could sit in the existing black surrond on my standard repeaters, they are alot nicer then the pricey clear replacments, i will see if theycan be sourced from GSF, i guess they must be because...

i have noticed alot of new cars have got very nice clear flat side repeaters (i.e new Audi A4 new VW etc) i fancy having a go at fitting some but they are all resessed flush with the wing so they might look funny, alternativily im going for new vauxhall ones, cheap and easy and simple
ill let you know how i get on next week when i go from naff bent knackered old system and bunged up cat to hill power de-cat and full magnex in one fail swoop , should be a little more vocal if nothing else
i have put some conti eco contacts on my mums lupo, the previous ones made nearly 30k on the font!! they are good tyres mate, i would fit them if i was doing lots if miles,
fairplay to the boy if hes running a turbo charged SDi Rover, thats the original big brit chiller, and the engine can make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
but sadly i doudt it,
what about one of those supercharged MGFs, and the S/C VVC engines used do fine thier way into...
im sorry i cant help mate but i would be interested to hear what sort of problems you are experiencing because i have got a hill power de-cat pipe arriving in a few days that will be fitted witha full magnex system,
i would really benefit from hearing of likley problems in advance

sounds god ben, would i need a spare bottom end to do this, an what is the likley cost? also i thought the existing vales were very big? any guessing on power with it all done?
i had a V6 mondeo for the day and its was a real dissapointment, not that fast at all, and awfull handeling, not shy with the understeer,
avoid,
get a Cup!
they are a real shocker arent they, i dont know why its always the Boras that seem to throw up the suprises, i believe its the same engine in the badly named golf GTTDi, and therefore Audis Seats etc but i suppose its easily mistaken for a normal GTi,

im sure they produce an astonishing amount of torque 250ft/lbs or so!
