give him £100 dude, if his story is true loosing £200 would be a serious kick in the balls! Has he actually asked for anything back? Also you will more then likely sell it anyway so i wouldnt worry!
it doesn take very much play at all to cause a noise on turning! Yous sure you were doing it right? As said above, did one side have more play then another?
yeh its a c**t. im about to buy a new valver and insurance is cheaper elsewhere but it isnt worth loosing the 6 months out of a 10 month policy i have already done!
oh well, it will be worth it when i have 3 years ncd in july! :D
If it doesnt make the noises when you are still then i doubt its the pump, likely to be a wheel bearing perhaps.
Jack the car up on front at 1 side and hold the wheel at 6 o'clock. Try and rock the wheel back and forward towards the engine bay if you know what i mean, there should be no play...

What do you guys think?
Had a fully rebuilt engine dropped in about 4k ago, with cams and pulleys/headwork etc. Seems to be a good car, looks pretty mint...
whats the best way to open subborn bleed niples? Is it to "crack" it open with a swift motion or apply pressure gradually? I have already sprayed them a few times with wd40 (i dont have any proper penetrating oil)
Iv just changed the front pads on my escort and i decided to bleed them as they felt a bit spongy once i had put them in. I bled the fronts but didnt do the backs, but they still feel quite spongy, do i need to bleed the backs? Also do i need to bleed them in any particular order?
My car is up...
