What exactly is it with top mounts that goes wrong? How do i check them?

I have just been out for a drive and it seems that the problem also occurs under steering....

It is as if something is moving when I pull away. I had a similar problem before which turned out to be the wishbone balljoint, but im sure I replaced them both sides in the last 12 months! Patrick p.s. To check the wishbone bushes do you need to disconnect it from the hub and then check...

I dont understand how it does anything with lube on?! Surely the lube stops the clay from coming into contact with the paintwork? :S

What sort of usage?

This. You put an inline fuse just after the battery. You can buy fuse holders from any auto store. The switch will have 2 terminals, 1 is a feed from the battery and the other is what you connect the horn to.

You can do it really basically just to get through mot. Run a wire from battery to a switch in the dash (fuse the wire just after the battery), then run a wire from the switch to the horn. You dont need to worry about earth as the horn will be earthed where it is mounted. If you dont understand...

why dont you wire in a new circuit for the horn and mount a switch somewhere else. If only to get you through the MOT untill you fix it
