Ive run it on several cars and rate it - its fitted to my F150 Lightning and everything ive raced has been completey left for dead - if its not set up right expect big bills
If the speedo is cutting out it could be 1 of 5 things
1 - faulty digital impulse sensor on the gearbox ( transmitter for the speedo drive )
2 - If the car has ABS the speedo pick up is on the rear ABS sensor - this detects the revolutions of the back hub and gives you your speedo reading...
Well first of all i would check all my shafts to see if i could find one that will fit - if not one of our mechanics will get a standard 172 shaft which matches your hub and then remove the CV joint ( they do come off but Renault dont sell them seperate ) and i will match an inner CV joint to...
Going off a standard 182 ( non trophy ) the 2 numbers i gave you above should do the job. Personally i would go for the non trophy shaft but be careful as renault dont take the parts back.
So does the inner part of the shaft not fit the gearbox and the outer part of the shaft not fit the hub...

KKK unit ( same as in the megane 1.5DCi BM13 )

The K9K 712 ( 100bhp ) clio's are renowned for chewing gearboxes up. The box in yours will be the JR5 120 and they are specific to that model. They do fit the JR5 in other Renault's but its the last 3 digits which determin its for the clio 100 bhp.
The JR5 is possibly the worst gearbox...
