Got a phone call from mum yesterday saying that my little brothers clio has had immobiliser issues and that they cannot reset the code as it goes through the radio.
Ive never heard of the immobiliser system working through the standard fitted radio needing the 5 digit code to be entered to...
Left pad carrier in place, and wound piston in. Needed to swap springs over to new pads. Worked it out in the end though that split pin is vvank..
Could not get front LH Disk off for love nor money, so took a hammer too it. Ended up take the T40 bolts out, and putting car in gear with brakes...
Ive got a K&N apollo fitted to the 182.
If you live local, your more than welcome to try the thing out on your car if you leave a relevant deposit. I could do with getting it off the car for a few days to let the fueling get back to normal.
So to get the pads out, i dont need to unbolt the damn thing.? I just remove the split pin thingy, then pull that bar out, or tap it out. Remove springs, and then slide pads out. Unbolt pad mount and then wind in piston into the calliper.?
Gotta drive to newquay on saturday from lincoln...
When you get out the car, you hear the rear suspension creek.. suspect this is why.
Shall ask dealer about it, never know..may get new 182 cup suspension shock out of it again as i had one replaced not so long ago. :)
The picture is a bad one really, looks like the bar hits the bolt head if i turn the bolt. Dont think the bars moved as it looks against the calliper on the outside edge. Got prob 2-3mm left on pads so not need changing, just could hear a noise like the pads had gone..
Think i need a true...
Tried to remove the rear calliper off the RHS of the car, using the method supplied by furby. Had issues with getting the bottom bolt out, its clearly will not pass the bar at the bottom. Can just about get a spanner on the thing, nevermind get a socket on it. Did not take a picture of it, but...
Noticed when attempting to change rear brake pads. Surely thats not right. Car is 04 plate 182, 41,000miles. That shock absorber was replaced at about 13,000miles.
What now.? Is that safe.?
M1 was closed at Jct 25 & 26 as a jumper was on the bridge, was sat in the traffic watching it for about 30mins whilst they got him off the damn thing.
Took us an hr to get from the coppice tunnel to the camp site, then 1hr up the M1 to turn round into nottingham..
Well we were in no rush...
