Ok 16inch rims, whats the widest tyres I can fit? I stupidly just bought some alloys on ebay without checking the width, they are 8j which is 235 I think? Will these fit :S
Doesn't look *that* difficult but thats from looking @ haynes and having a poke around while i had the headlight out? Anyone done it and tell me how long it takes etc
I think really AA+RAC are pretty much the same, there are few little differences, mainly accident cover which would swing it for RAC imo but obviously people get discounts etc both better than GF thou :p
Im not sure on the specifics of speedo cables having never changed one myself but Im guessing you're best (and cheapest) bet would be to try scrappies, I know my local one has 2 valvers and people are often breaking them on here so no doubt you can get one.
Ok the 56% wasn't greenflag my bad read the info wrong that was other smaller companies so apologies! Also yes GF do have their own vans...However ;) ...
Its actually 80% for greenflag same as RAC and AA, their response time (as per their website) is 40 minutes so also same as RAC and AA. They...
Lol ok one more point about AA to swing every1 to RAC ;)
If you clip the kerb and damage your wheel so you need to be towed or have an accident yourself, AA will not cover you and will charge you anything from £100+ to recover and tow your vehicle. RAC have accident care and will cover you even...
Yeah but greenflag is an insurance based policy so they will assess you on the risk, also have been known to refuse cars over about 10/11 years old.
I would check how many callouts you get and what level of service ud receive, I think ull be suprised when compared to RAC ;)
Haha and don't even start me on greenflag, just few points though:
Greenflag use contractors from local garages who:
a) Will charge you labour after the first 30-60mins
b) Could be any dodgy weird pedo in a white van, you have no idea who is pulling up behind u (especially a point if your wife...
Ok for starters if you have roadside relay or relay plus whatever it is, say you break down 100's miles from ure house and you want ure precious rs taken back to your preferred garage back home or to your house so u can do it ureself...
with the AA you will have to change van on every county...
working for RAC atm selling breakdown cover, you wanna go for RAC way better than AA and specially greenflag etc if you look on the website and ring in you get web discount which is about 20% I think...
Hubs fucked, along with my nice new bearing :( only place I know to get a 16v hub are right c*cks and will probs charge me £50 because quote "its a specialist part innit, cost u more from renault innit"
Anyway I know a place I can get a non 16v huib cheaper but will it fit my valver...
you put oil in the box via the boot? :S
anyway the gator is probably the right size but it is a total pain in the ass to stretch it onto the taperd part, you need couple pairs of pliers!
Have a look at the drivers side one and you will see how far it has to be stretched...
gear linkages? :S how do i do tht?
Also sometimes it goes into gears too easily, ie it goes into 3rd way to quickly and makes a bit of a crunching noise??
It doesn't crunch it just doesnt go in unless i really force it or put it back in neutral then try it again?
Gonna get some more oil and see how much more I can get in the box i really hope it isnt the box thou :(
More and more frequently it isn't going into 1st gear I've got to take the clutch up and put it back down or push really hard to get it in, same with going into 4th think 3rd and 2nd are ok though? Reverse is being awkward as well :(
Seems to have got worse since the rubber gaitor came off...
I had a look today but couldn't find anywhere for the oil to go, isn't there meant to be a hose somewhere like on the RT's? If anyone has a pic tht wud really help!
