Ahh you bought dans setup then, first thing id say do is the oil return needs correcting and the boost pipes redoing apart from that its a decent setup
Re: Bateseys 172..
Apart from niggles, the downpipe is longer so exhaust doesnt sit right but my mates gunna cut n weld it shorter, the ecu is adaptronic, chris at EFI has done a great job and im very happy, the guy is a top bloke
Re: Bateseys 172..
Car was suffering with boost creep yesterday, Chris at efi was a legend though and worked late into the night to fix it, picked her up today 228bhp at 6psi, im happy with it, just a few niggles like oil leak from the sandwich plate and mod the exhaust then its all sorted
Re: Bateseys 172..
Its filthy ATM, cant wait to get it mapped then i will clean it lol
Its cost around 2.5k all in all :) i only plan on running 5-7psi on this engine as its a highish miler, then once all the niggles are sorted i have a few idea's dependant on if i get bored, plan is not to...
Re: Bateseys 172..
Right, seems like this is taking ages but im nearly there .. i hope,
So last december i bought a turbo kit, the parts left from this kit are the downpipe, the oil feed and the manifold LOL so basically i've built a full custom kit from scratch
I decided to buy a new turbo...
That was made by a guy on here who built a cup turbo, then dan bought it for his PH1 but he sold it on because the ph1 TB wouldn't fit straight on, as above its very nicely made
Saw a black 182 with a girl driving it between branston and metheringham at about 2pm
Then saw a silver 172 on the way to saxilby at about 3.20pm
Anyone off here? both looked tidy
I've got 10an fittings with Barb ends for 16mm hose mate, got some oil lined hose on order with my other bits , going to heat wrap it all too and make a bracket to keep it away from any hot area's :)
Such a shame really that you didnt see much track time, but as above the problems you had were mainly oil return problems/bolts coming loose, sort the niggles out, get proper pipes for everything and it'll be a great little car mate :)
