Just feels as though it breaths a bit easier through the range. To be fair, I don't think the filters ever been cleaned it was black!! The amount of shite that came out of it was crazy!!! Lol

I just gave my K&N filter a proper clean with the cleaning kit and that seems to have made it a bit nippier.
I'll send you a message and let you know what Fred says mate.

Sounds identical to mine. Similar symptoms too!
I'm getting mine looked at by Fred at BTM soon. Pretty sure it's the dephaser pulley.

Sounds about right. Noticed a lack of power recently above 5k as mentioned. Got a k&n cleaning kit on the way as it's due a good clean (dont know how many miles it's done tbh).
Hopefully Fred will know what's going on.

Hi guys. Typical diesel sounding engine when cold/hot. I'll have a listen for a tappet noise!
I don't think it's been mapped, I certainly haven't had it done.
There is the occasional judder from the engine when idling on traffic, otherwise completely smooth idle.
I might be just being...

Got a big hunch that I may need a new dephaser pulley... sounds like a diesel etc... and theres no "kick", more of a flat spot at 5-6k. Still pulls nicely though. Idle is pretty smooth for a 1*2 etc... etc...
I work 6 days a week, and have no holidays at all this year so I can't pop to...
IIRC when you put the key in, if the dash light goes a solid red and does not go out then as JackJack says it will be immobiliser. As all your electrics are working, and there is nothing at all when you turn the key I'd say it's that as well.
My key fob battery was running out and wouldn't...
I insured my 172, with ZERO no claims (due to having comany cars) for £700 a year. Then I got a years no claims and rang up to renew and its gone up to £1290 a year!!! (And that is the cheapest I could find.)

First thing I'd try is the battery... I used to work in a VW dealer, and even the brand new cars would go flat after being in the show room for a couple of weeks without being started.
