Racing blue 197 is alex18 from Renaultsport.co.uk Did it have tinted back windows? Plus im sure he said he see a racing blue 182 at Marks? Where in essex are you based?
Love the way your blinkered into thinking the 197 is slower than a 172/182.... Brilliant! Worrying thing is you own one. What car did you come from, because point to point if you take the brakes and handling and grip, it feels as fast as my old 172 cup!
Just had my first 1000 mile oil change in the 197. What a fantastic proffesional guy he is. His knowledge of Renaultsports is truly phenomenal! It was an honour just being in his company, and he cannot do enough for you. I would truly recommend Mark fish ( not that you dont already know about...
Have driven both and the CTR is faster.. well after about 90ish anyhow. The gearbox is sublime, the seats are fantastic vtec is addictive, couple that with the fact that is has bulletproof reliability and what seems like better manufacturer aftercare and servicing, overall id say CTR is the...
It really does move contrary to popular belief, from point to point with the sublime handling and superb brakes it feels as quick as my 172 cup. Im still surprised i like it so much!
As far as 182's go not sure the name of the guy, but its racing blue with white wheels if im correct and the pic is taken from what looks like a multi story car park!
The backbox WILL break due to it being made from tinfoil and toffee crisp wrappers. Engine mounts and as said above high milers check for cam belt change.
I have just gone from a 172 cup to a 197 and im simply amazed! I started out as the biggest hater of the 197 but a 2nd drive of a demo change my whole perspective. The brakes, seats, handling, looks are awesome, and from point to point felt as quick as my cup ( no kidding ) The attention it gets is...
On paper maybe, but in real terms the gap is bigger. Every ff i have come across i can and would pull a gap especially after 2nd or third gear. In no way am i putting the 172 ff down, its just my experience. The "poorman" will have that little more fun!
