Yeah i greased the edges up, i got anti squeal shims to stick on the back of the pads. by the leading edge do you mean the top if u like as u look as it? Also deglaze? what does this involve?

At the weekend im having a gas flowed haed fitted so naturally lots of bits are going to be changed.
What i was wondering is am i safe buying parts from GSF?? I will be changing:
Head Gasket Set (Inlet, zorst, head, stem seals, bla bla bla)
Cam belt
Idlers/tensioners
Water pump
Head bolts
and...
if it has the same engine as the 1.6 16v, the mounting points should'nt be too diferent. You will need a 172; ECU, wiring loom, probably fuel pump, Rad?? Im not fully educated on 172 wiring loom but you should be able to just swap them over. Make sure get the whole lot tho.

Strange how the same engine can respond difrently to mods. Mine seems like its pretty quick anyway, i do intend to willy bottom end it eventually. But wanted to see what i can do with the 1.8 maybe a turbo???

ECU id located in the drivers side scuttle panel under the jack. Take the jack out and theres like a black plate might be a couple of 10mm bolts to undo, this plate will be strapped to a grey box. The ECU is in there.

So once all fitted engine spec will be.......
- Hill power stage 1 ECU chip
- Ported and polished cylinder head
- Re-ground cams
- Standard...
