The stig should redrive the car as all the other marque cars were driven in the dry...they wouldnt of driven the Zonda in the wet would they.
But driving the V6 in the wet only made it shine more as the supercar it is !!!
:cool::cool:
girlracer which meguires did you use and if you used the 3 stage stuff did you do the stage 1 stuff a minimum of two times?
I have used the turtle wax extreeme and the turtle wax gloss guard and it is pants in comparison to meguires...sorry thats just how it is.
I use meguires three stage on my 172 and is excellent...going to use it on my girlfriends Streetka this weekend and the results will be awesome.
Autoglym and Autoglym extra gloss is a poor second in comparison...used it two weeks before using the meguires and the meguires stuff is tons better
In may be in my head, but I feel running ron 95 sometimes that the car becomes noisey under hard acceleration beyond 5000 rpm and the power drops...
Today i had to put ron 95 in and i put £2 in to get it off the reserve light...then ran it 40 miles before filling half tank up with optimax and...
Mine has been on back order for 2 1/2 weeks with revolution in gateshead.
Tried ordering one off the internet from the greenfilter site, tried halfords and tried places out of max power and revs magazine to no avail.
Mk2 172 flat panel filters are like hens teeth at the moment...good luck !!
I run my 172 exclusively on optimax, i think i know the location of every shell garage in the north east of england...On occasions i have had to put nasty unleaded in from morrrisons and i honestly think after a bit of driving the car is slower and is noiser at higher revs than when on the...
This one was metallic blue, live in the north east...couldnt possibly be the same car..but all of the drivers usually look generically the same , like something from the matrix reloaded lol
At lunchtime I had the pleasure of having a BMW 323CI convertible behind me turning right at a junction to go along a long straight country road near to where i live. We both went for it from the off...Things were fairly even until i got into 3rd gear . by the time I was doing 120 in 5th he was...
i find my car now on 95 ron is noisy compared to optimax...i pondered for a while whethere this was all in my mind...but no optimax does make 172s and cups run better.
The only advice i would give is run your car gently for the first 200 miles then drive it as it should be driven after...
the halfords buffer machine is excellent visceral...the secret is apply no pressure at all on the buffer, do not grip it tightly and just guide it gently with open hands and let the machine to the work, the results are amazing
stage 1 will not strip the paint it isnt T-cut...if the paint is good you dont need to do it all the time either.
I do think meguires if done right is every bit as good as zymol or swissol...but maybe its like buying into a fantasy that paying more money is best...it is difficult to judge...
I have used this stuff once and the first stage polish I used 3 times.
The second stage glaze i did twice in case i missed any areas.
The third stage I did once because i was so hacked off with polishing the car....but I am going to do the stage three stuff every month.
The shine after...
For the 2.o L 172 i use Halfords equipvelent own brand 5W40 as the price isnt bad, it is in the silver gallon container....but at 12000 miles service it will have the renault brand oil put in
My partner is buying a streetka....seen it in the ford compound and the finish on the paint is shockings...i am in two camps whether to use the meguires 3 stages stuff i already have or go for the zymol concours stuff for £180
i look forward to reading the results on others zymolling their...
Yeah I have a halfords one which i use on the 172....the reesults are great...the only thing is lightly grip the buffing machine or it will shake your fillings out...but it is slow enough not to heat the paint and on a good day i polish the polish off about 6 times with it in an afternoon.

I got flashed by a GATSO CAMERA AT xmas time on a motorway heading into Edinburgh...I knew i was safe because of the following things:
1. No gatso speed markings on my dual carriageway side.
2l gatso was covering south facing.
3. gatsos on side of road can only cover 2 lanes of...
