Ok chaps - please tell me I'm being a proper bell and making these CAT5 cables up wrong.
I've got the cable stripper, the CAT5 plug, the crimping tool and plenty of CAT5 cable to practice on. What I'm short on is both patience and talent.
How the funk do you get all 8 wires to slide into the...
Feck - it's a tad quick!
The Mac Pro from the other thread...

.... finally had the 4GB of memory turn up this morning. We left the original 1GB in there, so it now has 5GB in total. Time for a bit of speed comparison...

FFS - I only ever seem to spot RS's in bloody Asda car-parks! ;)
Anyways, spotted this one on the way out tonight - just loading up with some last minute things before we set off for Oulton Park in the morning.
Anyone off here? I didn't notice any stickers.
Not a fan of...
About 20 mins ago. Apologies to the occupant - I think I terrorised her by knocking on the glass and saying 'hi'.
Not a good way to introduce ones' self.
Sorry again..... ;)
D.
Spotted a 172 Cuppa coming off the roundabout and then a silver 182 in a similar spot about 30 minutes later.
Anyone off here? Approx 12.15 - 12.45?

Nowt new, I know, but the old Dale Winton-esque indicator bulbs got changed for the Silvatec ones from Halfords.
I'm amazed that such a subtle change makes the front end look a lot tidier. I actually think it looks even better on a black car as the orange of the indicators just clashed really...
Just prepping a few laptops for work now. Why on earth do manufacturers preload so much crap on their laptops/PCs?
First to go - Norton, without a shadow of a doubt. Then the five ISP setups, care programs, registration documentation, security turd and other 110% useless bits of crap. These...
Hat's off to Apple - they definitely know how to make a decent case! I'm hoping the guys will leave it alone for the time being until the other bits arrive.
There's the 4GB of memory, 2x 500GB drives and an ATi X1900XT on the way - the gfx card being the last to arrive towards the end of next...
Having a mooch last weekend at some PC titles and came across Shadowrun on the shelf. The tech specs said it needed Windows Vista and a dual-core CPU.
Is this the first, or have there been other games that have snubbed XP before it?
D.
The RB 182 certainly was putting its foot down on the dual carriageway. I was a good 100 yards behind behind but couldn't get closer due to traffic.
Gave the 172 Cup driver the thumbs up and got the nod back in response on the other side of the road.
Either off here?

Right chaps,
I've been given the green light to get a replacement desk-based Mac for one of our designers. I could spend hours tweaking the pros & cons of PC hardware, but I know next to nothing in terms of Mac stuff!
Basically, the guy who uses the out-going Mac spends 99% of his time in...
Must have spotted at least 6 different blue 182s there, yesterday. Some FF, some 182 Cups, some with stripes, others without?
Anyone on here? I don't think I spotted one CS sticker on the ones I saw....

I know it's an obvious statement to say that the faster your BB connection, the better the 'experience' will be.
But how much does general broadband speed make to your game, in comparison to what the server deems to correct at any one particular time. E.g:-
Me at home on a 1MB connection at...
I don't think I've ever used such a disjointed, unhelpful, illogical and just plain stupid website as Cisco's.
Every single option on the screens are a million miles away from what you need or want. We've got a new 1841-SDSL router with SmartNET cover and I'm just after downloading the latest...
Ok - soap-box time.
Last night was the first time I'd had a go at BF2 in literally months. I applied the latest patch and got ready for some tank ownage.
Except I couldn't. The main reason being that out of the quickest ten servers in ping times, the top eight were all infantry only. There...
What's the deal with these then? I presume its something you can switch on and off? Nothing changes on the dash lights when I press the button.
Maybe mine's broken? ;)
D.
On the way back from Oulton Park today - back to the M56 - I spotted four silver 172s at different times.
Is it a Cheshire thing to have such a 172? ;)
Spotted a couple of blue Ph.2 172s at Oulton itself and a pornographic Meggy F1 (the fit as fook one - blue/dark alloys)

Bit of a random thread, but how and where do people store their PCs and other bits like pads, polishes, etc?
I'm keeping mine in its packaging for now, but I'd like something to keep all the bits in together. I thought of an old rucksack or something similar to protect the PC?
Any other...
Quite easily the largest grouping of V6 Clios I've seen in one spot....
.... and if you don't want to count - there's a dozen of the buggers!
Both me and Steve felt a little bit outnumbered in our 182 and 172, but as it was a v6Clio.net meet, what else could we expect? ;)
The weather was...
Whoa! :D
How easy is to wash the car now?! Much, much smoother and dare I say it, quicker and easier than before.
I only used the usual tepid water mix with AG Bodywork Shampoo in it, but the results were very impressive indeed.
The only question I have now (hello Rich?!) is with keeping...
Well, today was the day. The past weekend, I clayed the car (leaving the usual god-damn awful paintwork) but didn't worry too much as the polisher was up for it's first outing today. :)
I was going to take my time and not rush it. Clearly the last point rang true - even though I'd done the...
LOL - wtf have they done with the AI on C&C3? The campaigns are ok, but the skirmish AI appears to have had training at the Well 'ard Military Academy for the past few years.
Literally any RTS from EA in recent times I've been able to whack up the AI on skirmish to Brutal levels and have a...
