Holy mother of god - what were Reno thinking?

My car is currently in the Reno garage for the usual weeping washer problem. In exchange, I have a 1.2 Mk3 Clio for the day. Now, I'm not going to compare the performance of the 1.2 against the 182 as that would be totally unfair, but rarely have I felt such little faith in the car that I'm...

Ph-Quick (and others) - Thorn Inn, Appleton

Approx 9.30pm tonight. We were just leaving in our mini convoy when you came in. Car looked very good - and low! D.

    I've decided not to sell.....

The 182 isn't going anywhere........ for now, at least! I've been thinking of what best to do these past couple of months, and I can safely say that I'm happy sticking with the 182. The 197 was never even a starter for me and while the Corsa VXR had some potential, it was a hefty hike in...

    Newbie PC usage question

What's the deal with taping up the cill rubbers, etc? Does the PC damage these in anyway? Or is it that the pad on the PC would pickup way too much crap off the rubbers? Cheers, D.

    Sonus SFX-1 question?

Is this stuff too harsh for normal use? I'd only be using the standard SFX-2 polish anyway, but if there were sections that didn't appear to be touched by the SFX-2, I maybe tempted for the SFX-1. D.

    Destroyed front pads (inc. pics)

In response to my earlier thread... http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=216012&highlight=mofo I tied-in a look at the front pads with an oil and filter change yesterday. And the results were horrendous. I'm actually shocked and disgusted at myself that I've allowed them to get...

Stone chips and a PC. Should never the two meet?

I have a couple of small stone chips on my car - two on the bonnet and one on the wing. With a PC on the way, am I best staying well clear with the PC? Or just being extra careful? Cheers, D.

    Non-cuppy silver '04 182 & Trophy tonight - M66

Passed the 182 heading south. Had two girlies in it who seemed deep in conversation?! ;) The Trophy came past on the other side of the motorway - heading north. Only caught a glimpse of the plate - private one beginning with 'T'. Both would have been around 5.30pm tonight. Anyone? D.

Some Oulton Park piccies from today - forget it, 56k!

Some great racing today at Oulton Park - in particular the GT racing being a gamble with the rain being on/off all through the 2nd race. The VW racing was superb too - an entertaining mix of VAG powered cars including turbos, turbo/supercharged combos. V6's and even TDi power. Some of the sounds...

Better at racing games when you've had a few?

So far - I've still got to try GTR2 whilst under the influence, but on things like Gran Turismo, I have managed better laptimes after a good couple of bevvies. What this proves/disproves, I've no idea. Do I drive like 92-year-old Norris in his 1.0litre Micra whilst sober? Crikey. There's a...

    Squeaking mofo...

Right chaps.... My 182 has developed a very irritating squeak whilst on the move, that I originally thought was down to binding brakes. Whenever I dabbed the brakes, the noise would stop, but then pickup again within a few seconds. However, tapping the brakes doesn't seem to make much...

Late afternoon blat - Glossop way

Met Ste on the way back from Leeds. His Ph.1 172 has had major heart surgery today (new cambelt) - so we decided to go for a quick blat over the hills, towards home. A couple of blatant (and cheesey!) shots... D.

Couple of Clio Cup racer pics from Brands today

Loved the look of these little buggers - just wish you could order one from the showroom like this! Great day - the weather was spot on. The BTCC races themselves were awesome. D.

    Weird BF2142 in-game glitches

After having months of no problems with Battlefield 2142, I've started getting quite a few weird happenings in-game, over the last couple of weeks. Such as:- Stood near a missile silo as an engineer when the prompt comes up "(my name) teamkills - Zeller Sniper rifle". Since when does an...

    FFS - Megs clay..........AGAIN

When will I learn? After recovering from last year's fiasco (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=135061&highlight=clay) I had the 'bright idea' of trying it again today. Everything would be different this time though, or so I thought. I read and re-read what I needed to do...

    PE07*** - Mk2 Clio?

Well, 2.5 - one of those with the weird boots on them. Spotted it on the way in this morning. Must have remained unregistered for months to get put on an 07 plate? D.

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R's finally here.....

Although this game was initially planned when 286's were on the drawing board - it appears that it will be released this Friday, the 23rd. I'll be getting it and let you know what I think. Apparently it's not DX10 compliant (yet) but it should be more than enough to stress the latest hardware...

    Tom - '55 plate 182 - Shell garage, Blackburn

Good to see you - with our own mini-black gold meet this evening! Loved the Recaros - something I'd really like in mine. Just think, in that space of two minutes, we'd handed over £80 to Mr.Shell with two tanks of Optimax. I'm sure I'm in the wrong job.... D.

    Horn not working...

Oh well, I guess that will curb any road rage tendancies.... ;) Anyone got suggestions of 'obvious' stuff I should check first? I don't want to do too much with the air-bag being there. The last thing I want to do is for that thing to go off. Cheers, D.

    Photoshop CS3 Beta?

Has anyone tried this yet, as we've got Photoshop CS2 installed on the Mac here. Just a general query (as I don't use it myself) whether CS3 is much of an imrpovement? Also, any news on a more accurate ETA for it's release? I've only heard that 'Spring' is the launch date for it. Cheers, D.

    Colour toner disposal

Anyone know of a colour toner recycling place that will dispose of used colour laser cartridges? I know a few who will happily take the black ones but not the colour as they cannot guarantee the colour match when they refill them. D.

    Supreme Commander

Got it today for the PC and only managed a short blat on the tutorials. Anyone else tried the beta and demo or have actually bought it? First impressions are pretty good - clearly some thought has gone into the design, but it's still early days yet! Hopefully it will tide me over in the RTS...

Blue 172 just leaving Blackburn Hospital a few minutes ago...

Didn't see much as the roundabout was in the way. Looked like it had an after-market zorst from the glimpse I saw. Bloke driving it with dark hair. Anyone off here? D.

EG** LSD - black gold 182 - Denton Island

Spotted it yesterday, approx 5pm at the traffic lights. After-market alloys which looked really good on it. Driver kept his hi-vis jacket on - clearly going for the unmarked Police car look. Obviously a good choice in 182 colour, there..... ;) D.

Middo is THE man! (56k - should be ok)

Well, I got the door badges all-painted up, off Middo and I think they suit the car perfectly. He managed to get the exact colour combination that I was after and I'm really chuffed with them. Much, much better than the boring silver plastic look! Thanks also...

Red 172 - followed me on Grane Road this afternoon

    - almost - apart from the shed of a Suzuki egg-box 140cc mobile that was between us. I was in the Golf TDi up front and clearly you didn't want to open up the 172 - there were plenty of places where you could have overtook the owd biddy in the Suzuki! ;) Turned off down the M65 towards the M6...

    19.4 litres + 36 cylinders = 1 great Lakes run

......256 miles later, we're back home! :D Our little convoy of four V6's, one 182 and a 'little' Vauxhall Monaro took on some of the best roads that the Lakes had to offer. Great, traffic free (for the most part) stretches of the black stuff combined with the boom of Jain's Quicksilver exhaust...
