Mat, I had EXACTLY the same!!!!! Mine is regersterd 1/3/02 but Ren told me no it was 1/12/01 and refused the 3 year warrenty
So I sent a stern letter to the dealer who I bought it from (non Ren) telling them that the warrenty was the reason I bought from them (as theyd told me it was valid)...
Dont care if he calls my car bug eyed thats his opinion and was mine the first time I saw one.
I would have been just has happy with a mk 1 172 and chose mine coz it was the best deal/newest car I could find at the price I wanted to pay.
I love it and am luky enough to have the pleasure...
Only seen two willys in Cornwall, ( one of them I see every day, localy with the same owner since new) although every now and then there seems to be 2 or 3 in the South West Auto Trader at a time then nothing for months.......theres about three nice 16vs around here, one cup and four 172s...
not that I agree with the charge in London, (although it hasnt proved it self one way or the other yet) being the same for all regardless of income, the fact is if your gonna sit in London traffic all day then youll have to be able to aford a large fuel bill any way whatever your income...
Also got a Dutch import....had a few normal niggles but no dealer hassles, very happy with it :) (just had to buy an English handbook from the dealer for £6, as I couldnt read the Dutch one!!)
Dont know about Funkys repeaters, but I got the same ones from MotorLand(World) car parts shop, they ordered them for me, cost around £25 and were very easy to fit, just had to cut off a small bit of plastic and they just clipped on...had to get the old ones off (carefully) with a flat...
mine made a knocking noise, started like yours but ended up sounding like an old diesel van all the time... it was something to do with a bearing needing relaceing and a tentioner belt, not sure exactly. The part cost £130 but I had it done under warrenty
