The cage is the rear half of a caged full Clio -PH2 cage, I stock and fit them, there are better images of it earlier in the thread.
The rear half is bolted to box sections that have to be welded in the passenger foot wells. It then has the fittings to expand to a full cage when needed.
It's been a very poor week progress wise as we have been moving workshop, we also have 100 million other cars to work on at the moment / manifolds to build / so the 182 has been looking rather sorry for itself. :(
Only progress has been welding in all of the cage box sections:
The cage b...
The mirrors and the wheels where sprayed by my good friend Ollie - it's not powder - I'm almost certain you can't even powder coat plastic due to the heat involved?
Rad is a Valeo unit, fan is a kenlowe style fan and I drew up the mounts for it :)
Sorry some of the pics aren't working - my hosting package for the JMS site is being moved at the moment.
It's a real mix and match with those bolts, some have 10, 11, 12 and even 13mm bolts! You need a 1/2 inch long reach socket, or a 3/8 socket with an extension.
Thanks Ya :), here's a better pic:
Not a lot of progress I'm afraid as it is currently on the back of our car transporter waiting to be moved into the new workshop.
I have nearly exactly two weeks to finish it so expect a flurry of activity soon!!
Stop messing about then!
Go away you second hand parts pikey.
It's a terrible seating positon, but James is pretty clueless tbh.

Hopefully they know what they are doing - and as a result are going to turn the engine over by hand a few times (so loose the compression with the plug out) with the new belt / tensioner on to ensure it all tracks straight & happy - rough as f*ck not to.
Track setup as in track use only? A 100nm spring setup or around that would be ideal (IIRC the numbers correctly) however you would NOT want that if you ever use the car on the road!
Exactly, they can be built to any spec of your choice, they are our top line coilovers of choice primarily due to their flexibility.
You can either spec your own spring rates (if you know what you doing) of define if they are for road / road & occasional track use / track use / hill climb use /...
If you've already got ASTs you will have to have the recessed points milled into them, as the new kits have enlarged holes & a recess for the shims to sit into.
The boys at AST have built a lovely little detail into the 2010 RS kits that gets around the whole issue of bolt spacing so common on the clios, I really appreciate details like this so I thought I'd pop a pic up:
Gorgeous pair of cam type steel inserts that simply rotate in a recessed slot...
FU basically!
25mm up front, 10mm rear, as I have the 37 ET 2118s the rears already have a reasonable track width with the 1.5 deg added camber.
Just popped the rear units on to check everything is ok, now I'm working on your car for the rest of the evening ^
I am taking the front units...
Thought I'd throw up some more progress from last nights efforts during my lunch break:
A load of parts arrived back from the anodizers after I made them earlier in the week, brackets for various engine mounts, plus replacement parts for the intake manifold:
Coilovers have returned...
