People who have left their drives flashed, but haven't played back-ups seem to be reporting they aren't banned. It's still not clear how they are recognising people to ban them.
Theres talk that people writing their own back-ups are failing to use the correct settings when writing the disc...
If you've not been banned already there's a chance you'll be banned later, only certain drive types and fw's have been banned upto now and as it seems MS have been silently logging incidents even before the spring update then it's likely they'll ban the rest also. Even people have been banned...
What is an upscaling DVD player?
The DVD player attempts to connect-the-dots to add scan lines that were not present in the recorded images. The result is often visually pleasing, but will not contain additional detail not previously present. This feature is associated with digital (HDMI) video...
Funnycar55 - If you're banned mate, it will be from there end, on a permanent basis. Unless you change your EEPROM and manufacture another Xbox serial identifier, your unit will remain banned. IMO you may aswell leave it flashed and enjoy your back-ups, cause that unit won't be going back on...
Games cost money, as does media/packaging/staffing costs. The days of the bedroom programmer are gone, you can't just knock a game up in a month anymore.
Games are expensive though I agree, but given you could spend £20 on a HD-DVD/BD movie which gives you 1.5hours of enjoyment, a game can...
I see your thread on AVF, seems dodgy mate. I've had absolutely no issues with my controller at all in fact it amazes me how long the battery lasts in it.
Sorry I can't be of more help, but might be worth resorting to Sony careline.
Be interesting to see the influx of 360's onto eBay and sale forums now. Frankly I think it's ridiculous that MS has chosen to ban the console identifier as opposed to the individual Live account. People buying second hand consoles are going to have no guarantee that the console hasn't been Live...
Microsoft Starts Banning 360s on LIVE - MS Confirms
>> With the amount of posts we see on our forums ... it's clear, Microsoft decided to start banning Xbox360 with modified firmwares today (both Hitachi-LG and Toshiba-Samsung drives).
While it's the same release date as Halo3 beta, it seems...
So ALL you can do is only run pirated software on them, neglecting the need for purchasing genuine games - Well if thats ALL you can do then silly me for thinking it was hacked.
I'll check into it today, and see what folk are saying.
I'm sure they're not stupid, but neither for that matter are the people who mastermind these exploits/hacks and circumvent the security which prior to the 360's release was deemed "unhackable".
There will be a way around whatever method they're using to detect modded 360's. There is always a way...
Hmm im sure those smart enough can find ways to trick the system by having the checksum read the same as the original drive. Surely there are ways to stop them seeing you're running modified drive firmware?
Right, it's now all clear. You're talking about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for £19.99 on Play.com.
Silly me!

You need Newsleecher/Newsbin Pro as that is your client (i.e that's the software you open, to capture the file/binary of your choice).
You can probably get away with using your existing logon details to Newzbin.
Yes it will work over your standard AOl connection.
