Cyc never seem to process the order for a few days and delay in getting it posted. Then it's in the hands of DPD

CYC orders are so hit and miss. But to order for any where else means ordering from several places and extra postage. Elite car care seem to have a decent range as an alternative. I'd still rather choose i4d but just can't get everything I need right now

Wax and shampoo sugestions for Racing Blue

As long as it still performs as well as tough coat it wouldnt bother me what bottle it was in, but when AF were 15minutes up the road, 40minutes now, I was happy to pay extra and drop in and get it.

Wax and shampoo sugestions for Racing Blue

From a daily used car doing decent mileage? I could only get that on a car that did only a few mikes each day so didn't need washing every 1 or 2 weeks Matthew stop tempting me, I've been trying to cut down my collection of waxes. Although I used AF Spirit and Desire again today and really I...

Wax and shampoo sugestions for Racing Blue

Tough coat always seemed to give a finish resembling a wax with its deep gloss. About 2-3 months from a single layer. but it's one of the easiest sealants to apply so layering is as quick as a wipe down with a quick detailer HD wax is nice, decent durability but finish was never comparable to...

For the front grilles, dressle will save you a lot of time over revive. Bumper / wing mirror trims etc revive would be better. Or watch the videos, be thorough with prep and very precise with application and give C4 a go.

Don't discount it, just do your research and watch the application videos first. Or find someone local that's used similar coating type products to help you out. I recently did the front grille on my A4 and didn't notice I missed a small spot when removing, now see the slight hazing everytime I...

    Someone explain power and tourqe

Interesting topic, the cycling analogy is quite a good way of understanding the basics. I've had a mix of cars from high revving N/A to low revving torquey forced induction both petrol and diesel. Each one has had its own plus points and benefits in different scenarios and diferent driving...

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Think you need to do some research before you jump in with C4, get it wrong and it either looks awful and is a PITA to remove or simple wont bond. The plastics need to be 100% spotless for it to bond, and if you fractionally over apply or leave to long it hazes and then is very difficult to...

Connor19, AG dressings looks nice, but as soon as the forecast shows rain it's already started to run and where off. Amberlamps, APC is a good start but the plastics should be fully de greased, anything microscopic left on the plastic and it won't bond at all and will be a waste of product...

Finale is a wax based quick detailer, it will add the mildest of protection and maintain a wax base. it will bring back a little of the waxes beading as it also cleans the surface very well. If you want an AF protection option then you can consider toughcoat over the top of a dropping off wax...

After rinsing the car it can leave a lot of standing water on the panels if it doesn't sheet off. The wet panels can be listed with a water based QD, this will help encourage some of the water to bead off leaving less on the panel, but will also add lubrication when using your drying towel. You...

    Polish?

For use by hand I'd recommend GTechniq P1 http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/polishing/p1-nanocomposite-polish/
  23. Y

    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

It will add a little extra protection but not much. It's a normal QD, not a protection top up. Use as most QD's. On a dry car lighlty mist the panel, spread around then buff off. When used as a drying it the panel will be wet? Therefore the water will dilute the product making it less...

    Exhaust sealant/wax?

Discovered by Scrooge, AF metal polish with fine grade wet and dry works wonders on ST/ST end cans, cut as well as wire wool but with far better finishing down, almost comparable to metal polish with a MF. once cleaned up, I wiped down the end can and link pipe with eraser / IPA and coated with...
