I wondered this also. I was under the impression it would download as soon as you turned the xbox on. I did manage to sort it, but I can't remember how! I THINK I clicked on 'download premium theme' in the mini dashboard thing and it came up as free when it opened to download.

I got an elite on launch and didnt get the new chipset. I now have another elite I got a couple of weeks ago and its just as loud IMO.

Thats nice to hear then. Same with mine. Always done it. Even after a full service it makes the 'phut' sound mentioned from the rear.

My elite will be up for sale shortly. Just the console though, not HDD or any accesories.

Sainsburys. £200 for an elite, batman lego, pure, fifa 10, forza 3

Got my 2nd elite for £170 from sainsburys with someones staff discount. Several nectar vouchers off, and traded in Fifa10, and it works out to of cost me less than what it would have been to send my old elite off for repair.
