Hi dude to pick my rebuilt engine up on tuesday but today i got a call to say that autodata states that mains bolts should be replaced if they are removed.
There is no stretch data for them on my renault workshop manual.
I need a part number for them... f4r730
Or
Do they need...
nope, they run through where the old aircon blower was under the scuttle, i measured the distance the old system took (with the ABS unit on the NS) and it was 10cm shorter my way lol.
all thats left to do is....
weld up the rest of the cage and door bars
prep and paint the interior
fit the seats and frame
fit the harnesses
fit grip tape to the floor
tidy the interior loom up
re fit the top dash and cowling
build the engine
fit the clutch
fit the gearbox
paint all the...
call up custom cages and get a lenght of 45mm CDS then go to a steel shop and buy some 2-3mm steel plate.

make it like that (if it makes sense) so you can put a plate behind the arch too to take the force on inpact.. as bolts will just rip through the shitty 1.5mm shell.
Well the problem (as i see it) seems to be the steel that you would bolt too/weld too is 1.5mm thick and isn't strong enough to support the weight of two people flying forward in a crash!
The above bar looks a bit of show lol? is it CDS? or just polished cheap chrome pipe?
My old harness bar...
Yeah OMP 105/220
Dont buy one unless you have about 40 hours of spare time to fab stuff up and make it sit true and level before you can even begin to weld it!
car was done but had a few problems with the engine completion and i needed cash for other things for my business, long painful story but life goes on!
Na there reet! the guy next door has worked with metal for 30 years and he said there not the tidiest but there strong as f**k lol.. a bit ott he thought  there not finished yet, most are just spotted in places or a quick beed has been run to hold it in place
