Where's the cheapest place to get one from? Cheapest I can find is £280. Got a bonus coming from work and once I've paid off my summer holiday I should have about £300 left. I was hoping to get the lens and a suitable CPL for under the £300 mark!

D40 with kit lens + nifty fifty. Maybe a CPL aswell. Great starting kit imho. One thing I've realised in the short time I've been into photography that the desire for new kit NEVER goes away lol. There's always something that you simply neeed lol

You can pick a refurbed 350D for not much more than a decent compact. As JJ correctly asks, it's all down to how much you want to spend.

It's a Clio. You might get away with solid yellow on a Lotus or a Lambourghini... but a Clio? Give over lol But as I said, it's all just opinion. Personally I'm yet to see a 'normal' car look good in yellow

Low 15's seem more the norm from what I've seen on here. A few have dipped into 14's. So many variables in venue/conditions/drivere etc...

Perhaps. But I don't want to carry round a compact. Even the smallest decent ones are bigger than the phone. My N95 I have SatNav/Camera/Videocamera/Music/Internet all in one little package. Still the camera isn't important to some I can accept that. There's no right or wrong. It's horses...

The iPhone is not all that good for composing texts tbh. Maybe I just have fat fingers. lol The fact it has a s**t camera means it's not a phone I'll everr consider. In terms of features the N95 knocks it into a cocked hat for me. Still looks lovely mind and the UI is mint.

I disagree. They need to feel quicker. My 172 felt miles faster then the 197 I drove. Ultimately I doubt there was more than a ball hair in it. And I agree on the electric steering. :( But they're still a cracking motor!

My old man has just bought one of these.... Have to say I'm impressed! I brought him COD4 for chrimbo and his old lappy wouldn't look at it. This one does very well! Super spec for the money imho. Seems well built too!
