There are various power outputs for different aged models. I think around M they were about 208bhp but being that age it could be putting out anything.
If i ever get the cash im getting a AP22, i took my williams out for a proper run for the first time tonight and once up the top of the revs its a lot faster than all my previous cars (Fiesta RST, RS1800, Golf 16v mk2 Gti). Even my chipped Fiesta wasnt much faster if at all - ill need to get a...
I have only had the williams for 2 days and 110 is the highest ive had out of it, and that was by accident. I live in Inverness BTW so even if your in the North of England it would take you 3 hours to get here - LOL
LOL I managed 145mph in my first car - an XR2. It was supposed to be 112 top speed and could barley get there on the flat with a 20 mile straight, but we have a huge hill on the edge of town thats about 2 miles long, very good for fake top speeds.
I know that one of the guys whos a bit of a scooby guru on scoobynet can beat scoob turbos with a 2.0 though very twisty bumpy roads. On the straight they are very slow.
I think the autocar test was 20 secs but in the wet. It was about 20.8 or something and 7.7 to 60, both on a wet track so in the dry should be quicker.
I couldnt comment on a mk1 golf too much as ive only driven it a few times but it depends on what mk4 golf you mean. I have NOT driven a mk4 Gti but have a 130 GT Tdi (good handling) and our company 90 Tdi (soft, wallowy and front heavy). If you turned up in the 90bhp Tdi id fancy my chances;)...
LOL Mikey, i wasnt trying to argue;)I do drive a lot of company cars from all the top manufacturers and newer is definatly not better. I hate the MK4 golf that i drive everyday so much, i much prefer the old Citreon ZX i drive to work by miles in the handling department. Its all down to what you...
Its the same on all car BBs. Everyone arguing for their own car. I cant think of any current hot hatches i wouldnt own - im sure someone will point one out tho.
LOL the handbags are out - Mike16vclio, i wouldnt assume as a VTS is newer it has better handling. It may have better handling but being newer makes no difference - MK1 & 2 golf brilliant 3 & 4 mailto:cr@p">cr@p, 205 gti brillian 206 gti mailto:cr@p">cr@p i could go on;)but i wont.
I think there will be problems without a doubt but if people dont do it then they will never iron them out. Ive spent all my car time on the RS scene up until now and there always are problems when you get to a certain power with certain things blowing up or breaking. That many people mod RSs...
The ctr hardly set the world on fire with its realease and it did get sl*gged for its handling. Apart from that it looks like a people carrier!! I actually quite like them, if I had too choose between it and a cup i would take a Williams. as for keeping up with a cossie - so what? Std cossies...
Its all down to emmisions, if your car is producing the correct amount of emmisions without a cat by fluke then your in luck. I know someone that claims to be able to set up cars without cats to pass the MOT but never spoken to anyone thats tried it.
Cheers for the replies.
matbrown, it was Nathan, well his Dad. He seemed sad to see it go but by the sounds of it hell replace it soon. Very nice people.
My insurance is one of the reasons i got a willie as it is only £396 FC:D
I know someone that can get me tyres at cost but i cant even...
Its now 26,500, the guy I bought it off drove very carefully. Barely a stone chip. He had every receipt & mot. The tyres are on the very limit of being legal (err 1 could be over the limit), due to a lack of funds they will be staying that way for a while.
At last, after a load of travelling and hasstle I got a Williams 2. Low Milage, 1 owner & immaculate condition. The only probs are the alloys are kerbed (not badly) and after 370miles the magex has made me deaf. Ill get some pics up but you all know what a Willie looks like anyway. There is a...
Yeah but the cost of a decent 1.9 gti will be a lot less than a VTR. leaving far more cash for insurance. And a VTR isnt really worth getting above what he already has IMO.;)
A vtr is cheap to run and handles superbly, same as the VTS. It is gutless I find much amusment seeing vtr owners time themselves on SSC and claiming they are quicker than they really are. My cousins was very slow but good fun. The zetec-s would be my prefered choice as there is no squashed...
I havent seen the vid but how do we know its the 225bhp TT and not the 180bhp one. The only way I know of from the outside is the twin exhaust on the 225 & single on the 180,that was only at the start, they have both had twin exhausts for a 2-3 years now.
LOL Me and my mate had a similar experience to klmillard. We were driving back from Aberdeen one night and this tw*t was doing a 3pt turn in the middle of the road - we nearly hit them as its the main road and we came round the corner quite fast. My mate had his window down and gave them the V...
