I agree, you can compain all you want but they wont change anything unless sales are directly affected. Even then as with my company most people dont understand the value of good customer service. If the right guy in a position of power knows your feelings then something may get done - the...
It cost me £150 to get my Fiesta RST from 133bhp to 165bhp. Basically chipped and set-up. ERSTs are not qucik as STD and the actuators go soft so if hes not set it up as Mark says he may not be faster than you average diesel. Thought about a ERST but I wanted something a bit more modern...
You still need a Cossie stlye bumper on that Kingfisher to make it a bit meaner:D
Did you get that gearbox on the willie sorted or did you push it into position;)
Which is faster btw?
LOL im no expert but im pretty sure it the power steering. It uses power when you turn the wheel and the engine has to compensate at a guess. Same for all electrics, lights etc, turn them on the revs take a wee dive. Ive always assumed this anyway.
Its FWD because to fit 4WD to the MK1 Focus would have made the cost of the car about £100,000 each. Its wasnt designed to take 4WD, the mk2 (not yet out) apparently is. And I have driven MK3 Fiestas with up to 185bhp no problem, my mate has a FWD MK2 Golf Gti with 195bhp and its great fun. You...
They use only these in the Highlands, no Gatsos. My mate who works as a rep out of Glasgow got done by one. The first he new was when a letter came through his door saying they had photographic proof of him doing 102mph in a 60mph. He got 3 months ban and a big fine. They hide the feckers in...
Times change dramatically sometimes after the engine is run in a bit.
I have the Autocar Road test for the Willie if anyone interested. I havent got a scanner at the mo tho.
Some test stats from 8 the december 1993 - tested in the wet so the 30-70 is most likely to be the most accurate...
I take it youve tried http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/default.asphttp://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/default.asp .
If youre after a specific model and car its probably worth travelling. I should be looking at a willie next week 370 miles from where i live. I seems to be excatly what i want. I...
I have to say that the overly hard suspension is down to taste. My old 205 diesel could handle far far better than my "no-give" suspension on my Fiesta Turbo but i loved driving and fighting the turbo around bumpy bends. Its not the speed i like but the fun.
Oh i forgot about the VAG Tdis. My mate had on order a Ibiza Tdi Sport. 130bhp as std but can be chipped a lot higher. Once chipped It gets near scoobie speeds and 55mpg. Its a hot hatch although diesel.
The new Evo is going to be cheaper I think but running costs are still going to be high.
The only one that "might" not depreciate as fast is the Focus RS. I would suggest if you can afford one - get a test drive. As far as i am aware there is no demo cars from Ford but some dealerships bought...
The Above post about sums it up. My cousin had a my00 turbo from new, imported from holland. He owned it for 2 years and did about 12,000 miles - -his running costs were shocking. Great car but it wasnt that much faster than hot hatches FRST, VTS etc- not for the high running costs anyway. Its...
Most people Ive spoken to that have one love it. Which is all thats important really - mag reviews seem to be all over the place from brilliant to not great. I have noticed quite a few posts on various forums claiming to beat them quite easily - either they are slower than claimed or the drivers...
LOL Well I can beat that - I got a quote for a williams and it was £440 FC - so I got a quote with my girlfriend added and it was £404 - £36 cheaper - and shes had an accident in the last 3 years!! Tesco couldne tell me why as they didnt know LOL
Hope youve got 4WD Clios -

"The geographic centre of Great Britain is on Brennand Farm, near the Lancashire village of Dunsop Bridge. "
LOL - I may have a car...
Cant find the VTS times I was looking for - doh. I did find a thread where a owner of a VTS raced his mates 172 on a daily basis to work and basically the VTS was slightly slower but not much in it. There were certain times coming out of traffic in certain gears where the 172 was a fair bit...
LOL.
The std book figures for the 0-60s on the VTS/106 were 8.6 to 60 BUT
after a few thousand miles when tested the were down to 7.7 which is about right. So you will see both figures and both are correct.
The saxo/106 overread famously on the speedo - my cousins VTS was apprently giving...
Some Saxo vts/r speedos are quite a lot out. My cousins was 15mph up on my Fezzie at 120mph - his reading 135mph. my fezzie seemed to have the usual slight overead. I though you had a AP thingy Craggy?
LOL there was a Saff Cossie for sale in our local ads paper for £3500 with 500bhp! I couldnt help but call because it seem insanely cheap, I asked the guy about the mods, he said a only chip and S/S exhuast done by the previous owner - who sold it claiming 500bhp - ROLFLMAO. I didnt have the...
I think Ford took a std puma and dismanteld it, then re-built it with larger arches and revised suspension. They also modified the engine (i cant remember in what way) to give more power. For £22k you paid the power was woeful and the acceleration way too slow, supposed to be unbeliveable...
I suffer this from time to time. It really works 3 ways;
1 you get a new enough car that doesnt need work very often - you will just lose more money in depreciation!
2 get a older car that will usually cost less but be more hastle as you will need to get it fixed more often.
3 get a new...
