I think tuned diesel are great but spouting off all this power & 0-60 times is pointless. For the price of your HDI i could buy a RWD Saff Cosworth (56,000 miles, mate is selling) and tune it to 300bhp (already has that) - how would you HDI compare in performance then? Maybe and import Scooby...

I had a mk 2 16v Gti, loved it - cost me a fair bit to keep going. Was tempted towards a mk3 16v or vr6 but was warned off by loads of people and if the mk4 Gti (which i have driven) is anything to go by i can see why.

I love a great hot-hatch no matter who its from, aslong as we keep getting great new ones we should all be happy.

My mate had a Ibiza Tdi on order with the 130 VW engine, cancelled it eventually due to seat delaying. He reckoned he to get up to scooby turbo speeds and still get 50mpg using chipping, i dont know how true but i know you can make these TDs bloody fast. Dont know how the rest of the components...

I would get someone with a ramp or pit to take a look but i wouldnt worry too much. Craggys VTS could simply just be faster. I would get it checked out for the noises though - there aint much worse than something falling off you car while in traffic;) You wont really know about your cars...

Its a beast, there is one along the road from my work everyday. Not my type of car but a classic. Very nice.

You had better set the rules - on a full tank the HDI should be still going after 400 miles:) The poor 16v will be out of fuel long before then.

Yeah neil, my last car 920kg and 165bhp would be at 100 before your glow plugs has finnished warming up - peugeots are good cars, i owned one for 2 years, more rattles than mothercare;)

LOL Neil stop winding everyone up. I have to admit having "upped" the boost on my last car - a 16v/Williams isnt very fast compared - id say a warm hatch. R5 Turbo owners that play with the boost would find a 16v very very slow. I dont know much about diesels but my fezzie went from boringly...

What have you done to your Pug neil to make is so fast? Does the HDI have a turbo?

LOL the VTS vs Willie videos only tell you one thing - THAT VTS was driven Quicker than THAT Williams. You can work out the power to weight ratio yourself and see the should be about equal with maybe the williams edging it. You cannot assume that all VTSs are suddenly faster than all...

Youve only a mk1 though (according to your sig)which has about less power than the newest one (used by craggy i think).

Those saxo seats are awful - my mate used to own a VTS and if we went over 50 miles our backs were acheing. Great car though. He suffered a very leaky sunroof and occasionaliy random bits would fall off or come loose. He had it from new and it handled very well.
