I had a small chase with one recently and I was a bit faster but by how much it was hard to tell, we ran in to too much traffic. Its definatly wasnt the Turbo one anyway.
I was going to save up for a Alpine CDA7894R but can get one second hand for just over £220 from a mate. Then I found this new sony CDXMP40 for £125

Have you got a solicitor thats proven to ge good at this stuff? I would say that is the most important thing. I had someone reccomended to me and a few of us at work have used him. Hes got us all of lighter than we should have been. Hes based too far from you but get someone very good is my advice!
Nope - I have seen a few posts relating to VTR/S cornering at the same speeds as Scoobs. My cousins could actually get 5mph more on some corners in his VTR than he could in his Scoob. In the dry of course. He doesnt mention it for fear of ridicule but SB in Scoobynet has said simialr things. He...
4WD is the big expense - gives far less MPG - loses far more power through transmission losses and you have to change all 4 tyres at once. Then theres more bits to go wrong. I think 2WD losses are around 20-25% and 4WD are 45-50% but someone like BenR will know the correct figures.
All that...
A Evo is a step up in prices again over a Scoob - they cost more to buy and more to run with that stupily small fuel tank and very low MPG and group 20. Your best bet out of that 2 is a 98-00mdl UK Turbo scoob. Group 17 insurance and budget 8k for total yearly costs (below average milage). They...
RobFenn insurance is a very very small part of the running costs - My Fiesta of a similar speed and identical insurance group cost me £3,500 for my last year to my cousins £8600 running costs for a Subaru - both group 17 His was a new scooby and had vitrually no replacement parts except...
As Robfenn has hit on what are you useing it for and have you bucketloads of cash.
FRP = Cheap to run and insure, slow but nice looking
CTR = Cheap to run and insure, fast but a wee bit ugly
Imperzas = Fast and some are cheap but very expensive to run, the cheaper the car the more...
Yeah actually ring about - try tescos too - if I add my GF to my policy I save £60- this is with my GF having crashed (her fault) causing 2.5k worth of damage!! 106Gti / VTS:) Williams!;)
i wouldnt go for a quicksiver over a Zetec-s. At least eh Zetec-s is sporty and a decent size. I drove a 106 to work for 1 year - no thanks! Why not a VTR (same size i know) or Zetec-s or even a 1.4 Puma? For 7-8k there must be a sporty clio too.
I used Autoglym super resin for years then I got a metallic car and it started leaving "swirl" marks where I had polished. Someone told me SRP has some kind of T-Cut type stuff in it! I dont know how true that is.
Anyway this works miles better:
Simonz Wax original - takes 1/2 a day!! and...
Dont quote me on this as I could be wrong but I think the test figures for the FRP were 0-60 in 7.9secs. They basically took a normal Puma and dismatled it - then put it back together with some uprated parts- giving a FRP. I think they made a big loss on everyone due to the time it took to do -...
I know clean16v - I had a 1.6 Orion attached to my bumper the other night - we are talking cms off my bumper - I let him and his big bore exhaust pass me once on the dual carrageway then thougt sod it and blasted past him. Pr!ck.
My doors have spaces but no speakers - there is also cables taped up inside the doors. These seem to come from the Dash Speakers. Im the same as you Leigh I dont want speakers on the parcel shelf.
So if I put some tweeters in the dash and some 5" or so components in the doors and replace the...
According to the ICE info the Clios have Tweeters in the Dash and Speakers in the doors - simple. BUT Williams didnt get speakers in the doors - how do I tell if I have speakers or tweeters in the dash? There are FOUR cables connected to each one.
I got followed from one side of a town to the other and it turned out the had run a check - they stopped me for no tax. I had tax, I had only got it that day!
Cheers for answering - Ive figured out most of it now. Its appears that the cables to the front speakers split at some point in to 2 sets - 1 set for the door and 1 set for the dash all originating from 1 set?!. I dont think the ones in the dash are tweeters are they? I have four speakers at the...
I know, its a strange place - I wonder how many people actually own scoobs on there? I was going to trade my Fezzie in for a Scoob but the running costs are too high so I went so something cheapish to run but still special - a Willie:) Still go on as many a friends now!
