I think there was an engine problem that delayed it but cant remember the full story. I dont think torque steering is the prob its the animal of a diff. Opinions differ as too whether this is dangerous or not - I wouldnt mind a shot of one to make up my own mind as I have have owned "torque...
The local garage near where I live has one. Looks nice and chunky - bit understated. I love the alloys tho. Someone that has driven it may have had a diff incident because the last time I saw it there was a lot of crash damage down one side LOL
Well if it makes some of you feel better ive owned loads of cars all performance type - I found with every single one that some days they felt faster than others. Before buying my Willie I got a shot of a car I had previously owned and then sold to my sister (a RS1800). She is selling it an I...
Yeah I wouldnt bother with a stopwatch - my XR2 used to do 0-60 in 7.5 secs using a stopwatch LOL which was way off as its supposed to be 9.5 secs. The points between pushing the button twice at the exact points will have human error. The speedo will also be out especially if they are as...
There is a thread here with some cliosport guys on it with this very subject:

There are new industrial estates going up outside town where I live with nice big roundabouts and no traffic after 4pm when the contractors have gone. You can get to the limit pretty easily in the Dry on a roundabout and very very easily in the wet. I only try it with either a new car or new...
As said before I use round-a-bouts to experiment on the understeer/oversteer and general feel. I dont push it too hard on corners when out on the road although but I dont drive slowly by any means - Ive lost control at 110mph when I hit standing water and aquaplaned for about 200-300mtrs...
Try racing a 106 Gti as well!!
I have, I comprehesivly stuffed him. My car weighed the same but had 45bhp more;)
I saw a 106 Gti at a Scoobie trackday at knockhill - it was pi$$ing rain and the 106 was keeping up with the scoobs on the corners in the wet. The guy was driving like a looney...
The 106 GTI is a superb little car!
Tommy I rate the 106 gti as one of the best GTis ever - but when I see one it looks pathetic (too me). I drove a 106 (Girlfriends) for 6 months and they really are Tinfoil with wheels, some small cars look big but a 106 is small and looks smaller. I know the...
I looks forward to the results - I have never hit a rev limiter before the Willie (now 3 times) - its moves so quickly from 5000 rpm to the 6500 that you barely get a chance to change gear!:)
My mate test drive a VTS the same day I gave him a shot of my RS1800 and he was adament they felt the same speed. The VTS only had 2,000 miles on it so would probably be quicker with more miles, the same goes for the 106 gti. It should get quicker with a higher milage. Atleast the VTS looks...
Stuffed a few VTSs in my last car and my Willie aint much slower. Its defo quicker than the 2 VTSs I had chases with. No corners just straight acceleration. But the one thing I would say with 16vs is it all depends on changing gear at the correct time for maximum acceleration - its a lot harder...
My insurance with 3 points is about £60 more than it would be with no points.
I went though a speed camera at over 100mph in my old 16V Golf gti - fortunatly the speedo must have been way out as I got done with 86mph - SP30
Well I have just spoken to my cousin (that owned the VTR I commented on) and he says he was just quicker than a standard RT. When he had his VTR his parents had a RT and him and his father used to has the occasional chase. He reckoned with the mods you have done they would be about the same...
I have been in and driven a VTR many times and it is not fast - although many of the owners of them seem to think so (see saxo sports club LOL). The speedo is very generous aswell - my 90bhp Tdi work golf kept up with one on the dual carrageway yesterday - the guy was most annoyed. For the...
I dont know if this will work but my last Fiesta:

I never had a MK1 (Girlfriend did), had a couple of MK2 XR2s
