Did you get a run down of what is actually 'fubared'/broken or did you just accept on face value that the gearbox was done?
Apologies for being cynical but if it were me i'd want to see what they have found to warrant it needing a gearbox.
Not really. He pulled out in a situation where he should be giving way to traffic coming from the right. He gets hit, he's in the wrong. At worst it should be 50-50.
Mate i'd rather that^^ amount of damage all day long! Basically repaint the wing and a local on the front bumper.
If you'd hit him properly it would probably be bye bye Cup.
Oh i'd also make sure you get a Geometry done seeing as the wheel has been caught.
Sometimes it baffles me how some people can do certain 'mods' to their car thinking that the end result looks good. Obviously tastes will always differ but I'd love to be a fly on the wall inside these peoples head as they make these decisions..
But then again if we didn't have these people...
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Why the hell would you want to do that??
Oh so you have something that will completely drain you of your 'play' money.....silly me! ;)
Yes the EU regs are starting to strangle the life out of large displacement engines in road cars but what you lot seem to lose sight of in your power hungry red mist is that if performance cars are displacement ergo emissions limited then they will inevitably become lighter to counter this...
Broken? In 6 months? Errrm....well my OMP horn shorted out and fried the wires and the brake fluid sensor wire melted on the manifold. Thats it.
Over 5 years though:
Standard rear backbox
Prospeed backbox mount weld then split
2 x rear backbox mounts
2 x rear dampers (combined with Eibach...
FK's combined with 2118's and R888's.
Oh and my Bimarcos. And my OMP Quadro. Actually i can't nail down just one mod as they all add up to make one whole package of awesomness.
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Those sodding shock bolts!!! I swore. Alot. And then, seeing as it was in 'my' workshop, made a managerial decision and decided......to hand Dave the breaker bar and told him "you can bloody do that, im getting the right hump".
Well i may as well chuck some of mine up.
Got unfinished business with Clearways......not long after i got taught the proper way to take it by Tony a TVR Griffith decided to go pop and dump a load of fluid over the track all over that part of the track. Mr Saner can confirm how...
Probably because we've not had much snow in 15 years.
Up until last year i never really considered fitting winter tyres but i chucked a pair on the front of my Pug and it didn't get stuck once. I think any narrowed tyred shopping trolley will out do any wide tyre shod car once the snow hits...
Nothing a jig and a couple of ton of pull can't sort out!
If you need such stuff doing, let me know. We have a GlobalJig at work which that would go on nicely.
