Had this about 6-7 weeks now, bought new plates from fancyplates, other Renault parts like rear number plate light, parcel shelf, interior grab handles, just a little tidy up. I Thought i'd give it a wash and take some pics now it's not on Scotts private plate and back on the original 52 plate...
Ouch, My friend is a Renault Technical Expert so i took the Clio Cup down to his dealer place of work for a service. He did everything you've mentioned, also torqued rear hub nuts as they were loose, refit the front splitter with better fixings, checked the front geometry for negative camber...
Having somewhere to do the project.... That was the main factor for me and wouldn't have taken it on otherwise. Luckily i had the use of the driveway for both Clios.... 1 on axle stands and the other next to it. I had 1 project where i had to drive to Dartford from Southend most evenings...
My white Clio 172 took about 4 months from the shell to being on the road, i think about 2/3rds in i lost a lot of faith in it and wanted to just get shot of it. I think half the problem certainly for me was thinking about the dam thing like almost 24/7, even going to bed i'd be thinking what...
I can't believe it's been a year already! In that time i've owned 3 RS Clios and still at this present time own 2. It's been a really good year, enjoyed being a part of the Clio community and hope to get more involved in 2012. Thanks to all the people that i've bought Clio parts off throughout...
I run 25mm up front too, looks good with the ET43 OZ F1s, makes such a difference looks wise when they're fitted. I just bought cheapo steel hubcentrics for about £60.
Nice sales pitch Chris ;)
I have five 16" anthracite Supers already of which a set are fitted to the white track Clio. As the Cup is on 16s i was thinking it might look cool on the OZs, more track focused looking
Toying with the idea of putting 16" OZ Supers on the 172 Cup so i was wondering if there are any pics about. I've tried the search and up to now can't find any, i've found a couple of threads but the pics are missing (no doubt someone will post within 30 minutes!)
Also, quite liking the OE...
Been reading this from the start, cannot believe it's only been going on for 2 months, spot on! Absolutely love the E30 shape, what with that kind of engine fitted i bet it's going to sound awesome and go flippin quick!!
Top work, a lot of respect to you
Not meaning to come across as stupid as this is my first time of having a Clio with xenon bulbs, but are the bulbs in the link above a direct fitment to OE Renault xenon headlamps? My drivers side bulb has stopped working, it's either a new bulb, ballast or ignitor. If it's a bulb that needs...
I guess i'll just have to check it regularly, get some heat in it with the fan heater. Mould is my main concern, it's not going to be used for months..
Ok, so the white Clio has taken a step back. It's not been driven for over 3 weeks now as i'm using the Clio 172 Cup, the problem i'm having is condensation and moisture inside the car. The weekend just gone i had to use the chamois leather on the inside of the roof as it was saturated, there's...
The missus has a 1.4 16V 54 plate Dynamique, i borrow it every now and then and it's spot on.
Heated wing wirrors
Xenon headlights
Auto wipers and headlights
Previous owner fitted an RS upper grill, RS gearknob insert and RS dash strips. A tidy car and nice to drive, apart from servicing there...
I bought a 2nd hand jack suposedly from a Clio 182 to take the place of my rubbish plastic 172 jack. It had a (IIRC) something like a 20mm nut on the end. The brace obviously fits over the nut to wind the jack up and down.
Is it a 182 jack?
The same thing happened to my jack on the 172.
This might be better? Metal parts opposed to nasty plastic

There must be more to it than just walking through the Renault dealer door, signing on the dotted line, then paying yer £199 a month....
I went into Renault 3 years ago and thought i'd treat myself to a new 197 after splitting up with the missus.
To get that £199 a month it had to be a new...
Silver phs1 lowered on 2118s looks spot on, phs2 dash IMO is so much better looking.
Overall, very tidy looking 172. I wouldn't mind going back on 2118s on my phs1
I'm running FK Konigsports, i can't remember how 'soft/stiff' the dampers are dialled in at but after a tweek or 2 i left it. Even half a turn made a difference, what felt right after the last tweek was then left. I don't think i could get into the complexities of constantly tweeking for a...
I'm spending my money on new genuine Renault parts to tidy up my Cup interior. Nothing worse than gash, scratched, sticky door pulls. Yellow/green, mouldy looking rear number plate lights. Torn and worn gearknobs, wipers blades well past their use by date! Oh and a fresh brand new parcel shelf...
