Manufacturers will only ever give a flywheel reading.....
That dont want to advertise the fact power is lost through the transmission, and obviously how much their cars lose against competitors etc.
Im running Koni adjustables all round with BBPT -50mm springs.
Also have a K-Tec strut brace, and K-Tec camber correcting bolts.
Running on 16"s with 195/45s the handling is amazing imo.
Can stick with my mates scooby and brothers cossie round the bends (well, in the dry!)
lol!
At first I thought something under the bonnet had caught fire cos wed hooked a fair few wires up under there, but he just looked at me after he backed off and said its ok, its just your tyres hah!
We werent sure what it was, as we (rr mechanic and myself) didnt notice any wheel spin, but it happened just after the trigger point.
Maybe just a simple software error or summit I dont know.....
Heh did anyone actually read what I wrote ffs!
The car wheel span on the rollers or did summit i.e. giving a false reading.
The graph has a pretty much vertical line at 2K where it shot up where the error occured!
At what point did I say my valver was actually putting out these figures.....
A few people have asked me about my power/torque figures being slightly high for a lowly, if somewhat tuned, 1.8 16v......
.....well the answer - wheel spin lol!
Had some problems getting a decent run on the rollers and getting readings, but the first run lit up the rollers (well my tyres...
Thatd be the reason. A standard airbox imo will give the best power gains on a rr, even against a viper.
The heat generated under the bonnet, and even with a big fan blowing cold air in, the inlet temps are a fair bit higher on a rr than on the road......
Im after some red/black seat covers as at the moment, I havent got the cash for a leather/alcantara re-trim like Id like.
Any ideas of where to look? Cant find a decent set anywhere.......
Tom
Well yes they will actually.
The flywheel reading will be the same but the wheels reading will be generally lower with bigger wheels as the transmission loss is greater......
Mine is very LOUD! But thats how I like it, hence getting the original loud version.
Quality and fitment are excellent. Exhaust fitter said it went on very easily and after about 16months (I think) of ownership, still look brand new apart from a couple of burn marks.....
(Theyll be from the...
