Thanks guys :)
I'm just in Walsall, so I'd be happy to do this for you.
Where in Birmingham are you?

Citrus Pre Cleaner is a lot more effective than most snow foams.
Look at G101 and Surfex HD too, if you want a simple pre spray that you want to pressure washer off. I only use snow foam for show on details really - realistically it's not needed.
Am I the only one who doesn't rate the Poorboys Wheel Sealant? It's too much effort and doesn't last long enough. FK1000P, Zaino Z2P or Optimum Opti Seal all nail it.
Smoothness of the motor, the extra obvious torque and the fact that it doesn't slow down under pressure.
Sod them both though, far too heavy. Look at the Chicago CP8210 or Festool RAP150 :)
For occasional use though, the SIM180 is fine. I just wouldn't want to be using one very often at all.
It's cheap, good finish but doesn't foam up, so people **** it off. It's provides great lubricity though and rinses very cleanly, so is technically, a very good shampoo.
The Megs clay is very mild, so shouldn't leave any marring at all behind, but as Luke suggests, the stronger clays will, which CAN require a machine polisher to remove the marks it creates.
Use little to no pressure over a VERY well lubed surface and you will be fine. Following up with SRP...
This was a bugger, but really easy in parts - the mind boggles!
Renault is okay generally though, as you say. Hardest I've done is probably a Mk5 Golf R32
I went over them which glossed them up a bit, as they were swirly, but it didn't change the appearance of them at all really.
Have you corrected yours? How was the paint?
Agree on the £100, I'll never do it for less, but I do a paint cleanser/DA 'tidy up' for £50 or so, which is a LOT...
£100ish, which is dirt cheap compared to the pro's, but I'm only part time, so can't command £300 or so per detail.
I'm not as good as most of the pro's, but I'm sure they aren't 3x better :)
RussZS detailing a Clio!?? Gotta be a first...
Today's example was a newly stripped out, well cared for example of a 172 Cup in Mondial Blue, lowered on Eibch Springs, with OZ Ultra Leggera wheels, and a very tsteful KTec Stealth Exhaust system. The aftermarket Cobra seats were also...
Cheers guys :)
Thanks for the pics and the feedback Russ, massively appreciated.
I'm even more knackered tonight after doing a 172 Cup - probably my most challenging car yet!!
Me too dude :) Not got my teeth into a RB car before, should look great!
I keep saying 1 a weekend, but I have a 172 Cup to do now, then an Impreza and Octavia next weekend. I never get to clean my own car!
It tells you how many microns there are between the detector and the metal surface of the car. You can use this to assess how much clearcoat you have to work with (as a rough guide) and more crucially how much clearcoat is being removed when you are correcting the swirls, scratches etc...
Today's detail saw me travel to sunny Stone, to give my mate Russ' newly acquired Ford Focus ST3 a bit of love. I agreed to do what I could in the 8 hours or so that I had...
A few pics of the car when I arrived:
I started with the wheels, arches and tyres, and set to work...
I currently have a case open with RUK regarding my 2nd set on my 197, and told them I want some assurances with regards to the 200, and want to know if they've sorted the manufacturing defect
I'll chase it up on Monday
The Sonus Polishes are a bit old school, and I've never been a fan of them myself. However, the pads are great for a beginner as they're quite soft and easy to use.
You will get better results, quicker with the Menz kit, but the learning curve with the firm Menz pads will be a bit steeper, but...
