So my PC is built which is good however I'm struggling to create a Windows boot disk on my Mac.
So with pressing F11 on start up I've tried a couple of different USB drives I have (Including the Cliosport one) but every time I get the same insert boot thingy, restart and try again. Think all...
I don't want to potentially have to wait a couple of months until the new boards and processors are freely available. The board I chose has had updates to include compatibility with Kaby. So I'll run the MB for a good year anyway, and maybe jump on the Kaby train in the summer if I can justify...
I was thinking alongoing those lines as well. Could potentially buy a CPU that's been over clocked to within an inch of its life and last 5 mins once fitted.
Today has been an expensive day. Bought CPU, RAM (16Gb for now) and HDD (M.2 SSD). All I need is the power supply and I can get building.
So I had to cancel my case order as with it being ATX form factor and limiting which motherboards I could go for.
So I've now changed my case to a Corsair 540 white cube thing and ordered an Asus Maximus 8 Extreme. Probably overkill for me but will do me a good good number of years to come.
I very nearly pulled the trigger on Deus Ex a couple of days ago. Takedown myself out of it but if it really is this good I may buckle and go for it after all.
So I ordered my case and CPU Cooler last night around 2300. It's now delivered. That's awesome as it was saying delivery after Christmas.
Case will be a wee bit longer though.
Excellent. I'll hold off buying the big ticket items (CPU, GPU and motherboard at the mo then).
Will Kaby Lake see the need for new motherboards or will existing ones still work with the new CPUs?
Do we expect Kaby Lake news at CES? Also, the 1080Ti released early next year will be the reference item won't it? When can we expect the other guys (EVGA, MSN and the likes) to release their versions?
I've ordered my case and cooling setup for the CPU. Cooler was:
Corsair CW-9060025-WW Hydro...
I am definitely looking to get the 1080 but thanks for the offer.
Though I may wait until after CES before pulling the trigger to see what new stuff comes up.
I was thinking that 32Gb of RAM was OTT at the mo. As for motherboard, I think this looks like a good option.

So I'm looking to build myself a pretty reasonable spec gaming pc. I've started putting a list together of the bits I want however I'm still a few bits short. So far I've got:
GPU- EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING, ACX 2.0 (Single Fan), 6GB GDDR5, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC), Only 6.8 Inches...
Finished the SP story tonight. Really enjoyed it though thought it was a bit easy on hard difficulty. Will definitely go through it again on the harder setting.
Really hoping the release further SP content as it was very good imo. Not ventured online yet but hopefully remedy that later this week.
We used to be on 0.5mb in our old house for 5.5 of the 6 years we stayed there.
Now on 200mb (could get 300 but it's too expensive to justify) and can download games in no time now.
The Mum-in-law bought me GOW4 (download code) for Christmas and it's sitting on the hard drive just tempting me...
We got a Samsung UE55KS8000 on "Cyber Monday".
It's replacing the 48" Samsung Curved 4K TV that we never really clicked with. got it for a good price so bought it in April but should have researched it beforehand.
The new TV however is awesome and it seems to have solved the Sky Q issues we...
What level of storage did you go for? I tell myself to get the 1TB because why not? But really 512Gb is probably enough. You can get portable 1TB SSDs for less than Apples upgrade price from 512Gb to 1TB giving you an extra 512GB of storage.
I know the SSDs in the new Pros are really fast so...
I'm gonna try the Apple store in Glasgow tomorrow to see if they have the spec I'm after.
Failing that I'll just order online. Anyone ordered with student discount using a relatives student I'D?
I kinda wish they did the 15" version without touch bar but hey.
Wonder if they'll do any Black Friday deals on this. Think I'll go for the LG 5k display also (though will have to buy before end of year before its price goes back up).
So today the wife ruled out the Dell XPS as she doesn't like Windows. Though she thinks a 5k I Mac is a better choice over a new Macbook Pro.
Played with one of the new Pros (Non touch bar 13inch) and really liked it. can type really fast on it with its new keys which I kinda liked...
Where is the bloody Edit button?
The iMac is a 27-inch Mid 2011, 3.4GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 2GB Radeon graphics, 1.256TB of SSDs.
Would I even notice a difference jumping to one of the new Pro laptops? Weather is be the Dell XPS or MacCrook Pro?

I fear I'm just wanting...
So £3k (With student discount of course) for the reasonably well spec'd 15" Pro is the price you pay for the computer. Add into that £19 for a USB-C to USB-A dongle, £50 for the cheapest power adapter, £19 so you can charge your iPhone 7. Those are just the basics really without taking the piss...
I'm gonna go for a Dell XPS 15" laptop instead of one of the new 15" Pros. You can fully spec out the Dell and it'll be more than £1000 cheaper. Pricing on the Pros is ridiculous and I just cant justify blowing that much more money for the "Apple Experience". Their Pro machines are no longer...
