Thats very nice. 32"? Your gonna have to get another though as having 2 different screens next to one another would mess with my OCD lol.
Also, I have that printer
I like that. Though I'd put the tower on the floor as there really is no need to have it on the desk. Less "clutter" though...
I was going through CDKeys yesterday looking for some good deals. Contemplated getting this as it was cheap but was unsure if I'd like it so opted not to. Also looked at Company of Heroes but ended up with Deus Ex 2.
I may go back for another look at Starcraft 2 and COH.
I just got the 950 Pro for the OS. I removed the Samsung 850 Evo 1TB SSD from my iMac before I sold it and put it in my new PC. These are easily fast enough for most people for their storage needs. They've also came down in price from when I bought mine in the summer. I'll be sticking 1 or 2 of...
Since your rebuilding your current setup surely you shouldn't need a new case or power supply? Obviously I'm assuming they are good.
Also, do you really need an SSD? Reuse your old HDD and save money there to?
So I downloaded Gears 4 last night onto the PC as I bought it digitally on Xbox.
Fired it up this morning (84GB download) and wow. Graphics are phenomenal. All settings on highest and getting a steady 60fps.
Had issues getting my Xbox One S controller to connect to the PC through Bluetooth...
So the replacement monitor is fault free (touches wood) and looking awesome. Also got myself a set of speakers (£30 Logitec PC ones that'll have to do until I have monies for a decent setup).
Now to get some games. Do any of you play Star Citizen? Looks pretty amazing but it's a few years old now.
Most things break wen you exert of force on them that its not designed to take. :tongueout:
I like the new 740 case but dealbreaker for me was lack of drive bays.
Some pics of my build. Won't be to everyone's tastes but I love it.
I've still to tidy the cables, hide them and make it all neat but once the monitor arrives this'll be done.
Using that SpeedFan application and Corsairs Link 4 I have a hold over the fans speeding up on the CPU temperature blips.
Will try and revert back to stock settings tomorrow once I've redone the CPU thermal paste.
Its not the fans that are the issue now. I have a wee panel on the front of the case which shows CPU temp, fan speed etc and the fans kick up when the temp on the CPU "blips". This happens when the PC isn't doing anything but web browsing. The fans are silent however they do generate a fair waft...
New fans have arrived and are fitted. Though I'm still having an issue that the CPU temp will momentarily blip up to 40-50 degrees causing the fans to spin up to noisy. Temps sit consistently at 30 degrees (The CPU is lightly overclocked) but blip occasionally up to those numbers.
Any...
Picked up an MSI GTX 1070 Gaming today on the cheap. Was going to hold off until the 1080Ti was available but as the monitor I wanted had G-Sync I kinda had to jump sooner than I'd planned. I had looked at going for the minimum GPU that would run G-Sync but the price of the 1070 was one that I...
It was easy to retrun it but I wanted it replaced. Managed to get them to agree and once they receive my dead pixel monitor they'll send me a new one.
I haven't read reviews on any of these monitors (ROG, Acer etc) that don't have quality control issues with light bleed and dead pixels.
so my new monitor arrived today. Screen is lovely but for 1 dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. trying to get an exchange with Amazon right now and they are making it difficult.
I've ordered replacement fans. Went with Corsair performance once that get good reviews. I've went for 3 x 120mm fans that are going to replace the 2 x 140mm front fans that came with the case. Customisable lighting also if thats your thing.
After some deliberation we decided to go for the Acer...
Lol. Have removed my 1TB SSD from the iMac and put the OEM HDD back in. So I've now re-appropriated the SSD to my new PC build. My older brother had a 5 year old laptop which is buggered so I've re-appropriated that HDD into the new PC also. Some free storage is always a bonus.
The iMac is sold...
We are up and running at last. So I managed to get the PC booted with windows using the Windows 10 USB flash from Maplins. So obviously my iMac and it's ability to make a boot able Windows drive was the source of my issue.
Big relief tbh.
One of my case fans has a nice chirp sound to it and Amazon want me to send the whole case back instead of sending me a new fan or send me a replacement case and I would swap the fans and send that case back with the faulty fan.
