    VW rad for ITBs

Its not the Polo one, agreed that is too small. That's the one most people use 528x299mm with a core thickness of 22mm The one I'm getting is 525x322 with a 34mm thickness, which isn't far off the standard size of 476x399 with 34mm thickness.

Good stuff, no aircon - no worries.

    VW rad for ITBs

Thanks guys! I've found a brand new suitable VW rad which has a core size of 525x322x34 for £24 posted. So £46 in total with a 12" fan as well is quite a bargain!

Yeah in that case leave the ball joints in and undo them from the arms.

Recaro pole positions (and the like) with standard seat belts.

Fixed bucket with normal seatbelt is very dangerous. It gives no restraint over your hips so you submarine and in an accident you'd never walk again if you were lucky enough to live.

    The PlayStation 4 Thread.

Re: PS4 pre-order I'll be getting mine when the price drops after Christmas. I can wait. I got my PSX 2 years after launch and my PS2 and PS3 on launch but I'll wait for prices to come down before getting my PS4 I think.

    fitting cup lower arms

Very easy. I assume you bought them with new ball joints already fitted from Renault? Wheel off, undo ball joint bolt, lever it out. Undo two bolts to subframe. Refitting is the reverse of removal. However the extra caster will alter your toe settings so you'd want to set that afterwards.

    VW rad for ITBs

I'm going to order a VW rad and slimline fan this weekend and I've already got a fan switch blank in case the rad doesn't come with one. The current fan has two plus on it, one for the motor and one on the shroud. When I wire the new fan in will I just need the motor wiring and not the one...

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 It's the most likely. With me keeping it N/A the best solution for the most torque is ITBs. I would want it to run like standard though. No cold start issues, nice idle, start first turn of the key.

    Fan switch

Where is the fan switch on a Ph1 172? I thought it would be in the radiator but it's blanked off.

Are Hankook V12's still rated? or are there more favourable options?

As a better all round tyre I much prefer the Dunlop Bluresponse, very good tyre.

    JC5 172Cup Gearbox final drive

For my Ph1 I went Quaife with the 4.07 final drive rather than the 3.89. Gearing is pretty good, just needs ITBs now. Something like a 4.27 would be perfect imo.

I thought the 200 exhaust was pretty good and you could benefit from doing a y-pipe and sports cat?

    clio 197 f1 or Integra Type R (dc5)

Both as standard I'd have the DC5. I'd only consider the Mk3 Clio if it had boost and a diff.

    Ph1 dyno power run.

Take and average of the max power and torque figures and it's 184bhp and 173lbft. That's exactly the same mine is putting out with ITG filter, ported head, matches inlets, Piper cams, 182 manifold and sports cat. So very good figures if they're accurate :)
