oe stuff is fine if your not doing loads of track driving!!
avoid those cheap ones on ebay, one thing never to be cheap with on an rs is tyres or brakes.....
the only reason to fit 17s on a mk2 clio is for massive brakes but seen as you dont have these and you can get perfectly good ones to fit under 15s... you need lowered suspension to pull them off so i say go for the 16s which is a nice compromise of looks/performance...... imo
need to be huncentric for starters and imo the system b ones are the best (bolt spacer to hub and wheel to spacer)...
are you running standard wheels/tyres??

17"clio wheels are somthing like et53.
problem with decent width jap wheels is that they are 5x114.3 so would need adaptors and the highest offset they do, even then your prob gonna need to serious negative camber....
why??
it's fwd so having a wider front track helps you put power on earlyer going through/coming out of corners and the front arches are wider than the rears which helps with the look of the car!!
just my opinion though, if somthing else works for your driving style then im not saying your...
venom are pretty competative with prices, they are only a few quid dearer than ordering direct from the factories..
you can fit 15mm all round but personally the optimum set up for standard wheels is 15mm front an 5mm rear with standard tracking/camber settings....
ill let you know in a couple of years...
they feel alot more solid than a mk2 but i guess thats down to extra weight and ncap improvement more than actual material quality....
not a problem but the spacers you use would have to be mm perfect or you car wont track staright, i would get some longer bolts too....
why would you want to anyway, mad engine conversion planned????
i always have a look for tell tale signs like exhaust/lowered suspension/stickerseven if im in the works van, i get stupid looks when i let on in that though lol
