I'm not really a fan of Plasma's and would much rather have a IPS LED screen. I would go to somewhere like RicherSounds and have a look around, they also give good advice. Brand wise I would stick to the big name brands such as LG (first choice), panasonic, sony.

How many items are you planning on selling? If it's over 20 I would look at using PrestaShop over Joomla. If not you can use a plugin from here, just look for one that will suite your needs, and has good reviews. http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/e-commerce

I prefer Joomla to WordPress. Seems to be more in depth. What sort of plugins do you want? One of the best you can get it TinyMCE

Less spam, better interface, better email organisation. Splits them into categories, Primary, Social, Promotions and you can add more tabs such as forums. Has a nice way of grouping conversations together
