    Detailing Chat & Questions Thread

Jay, typically every weekend for anything between 30 and 70/80miles, and if I have the time and good weather a little blast mid week. Through the summer the roads I used I was getting splatter from 15mph onwards so washing after every ride was pointless, as knowing it's well protected it...

How often are you cleaning it? I did mine every 3months as the bug splatter was terrible every ride so left it. Used AF citrus power then a MF sponge to remove. RDS is supposed to be Ph neutral I believe. Mine is currently protected with AF tripple and Carpro reload until it gets EXO

    DA vs. Rotary ?

As said it depends what you will use it the most for. I switched back to a DA as I much preferred using it with glazes and pre wax cleansers and only occasional correction. For most correction look at a rotary if not a DA. plus with the MF cutting pads you can get a good level of cut before...

Just checked my eraser and it's completely translucent and nothing like that above, I originally thought it was bubbles from using it until closer inspection. That's quite worrying

    Need a new wheel cleaner

Think you need to do more research on the product. It needs to be perfect, if you get the prep 99% right it will fail

    Need a new wheel cleaner

15ml will be enough for 6x 16" wheels if applied correctly. Most will make the mistake when first using it to over apply. It spreads much further than you think

Car cleaning for the lazy man

Removing scratches and marks on a budget or a starter is simple not going to happen, or not effectively IMO. find someone local to you hat knows what they're doing, ie Dawn, to sort it out and give you a good base to start from, that way you won't be paying £££'s for products you won't use...

    Wax safe pre-wash

Last week ASDA in store was £6 for a litre bottle of RDS. For me as I use it quite a lot, 5L of AF citrus power for £35. Works out to be £7/litre but for routine washes I dilute it 1:1 with water and still is affective provided your LSP is still performing, therefore £3.50/litre I've not found...

You can do if you want to use in a quick detailer type fashion but still add protection. For full functionality, on a prepped and dry car, spray onto panel and wipe on to spread, then buff off, job done.
