Thumbs up for the Viper :D
I must say, its the design that counts, so a cold air feed, heat shielded or sealed away from engine bay heat is the way to go, and I would recon that the BMC CDA, Viper and the HillPower kit will do around that same, filters completely exposed to the engine bay are...
Cheers Jeremy, you wouldnt be any chance have the wheel-only weight of the standard 172 wheel would you? Ive only got it with an Eagle F1 on it...... and I dont know their weight yet.....
-john.
Has anyone got the weight of the 16" cup alloy(with the tyre)? is it that much lighter than the 172 alloys?
What weight (if any) did they gain by changing the alloys?
For everyone who wants it, here is the link to the article.

What tyres are you running? size etc? they might well have a bearing, you may well want to have a look at more grippy tyres (Eagle F1s / Toyos / Yokos)q
LSD-wise - Do Quaife not do an LSD that can fit the willy box? otherwise have a look at RaceLogic...
Dannyboy - What exactly is the criminal offence that is committed by a person with a nitrous system hooked up in their road-going car?
The only one I can think of is "Driving without insurance" if the nitrous was not declared and covered on the policy associated with the car, apart from that I...

I junked my ContiSports after 600 miles (well, Telford_mike bought them off me actually) cos I really didnt like the amount of grip they gave - not enough me for by far. So I swapped over to Goodyear Eagle F1s, and they are fantastic, good grip, good wear, excellent, Im just gonna go and...

But only in an ET37 offset :( and getting used by everyone it seems (no offense to anyone on here :)) I think the offset is pretty important, as the back shock aint too far from the wheel anyway and pulling it in further aint gonna help if I do any other stuff like coilovers etc (maybe I can get...

Yes Tom, the 172 mk2 wheels are ET48, strange but true.
Ill have a look around, but most wheel places online dont quote the weight of the things, which is why Im asking here...... Cheers for the suggestions, Ill see if anyone quotes weights on them wheels.
I know about the SuperLs, but they only come in an ET37 offset, Team Dynamics "Pro Racing"s are goodnlight, but only in White or Anthracite, and only in 15" or 17", but in nearly any offset you want.
So, any others I could consider? I want light, and really as close to an ET48 offset as pos...

I actually want one made which sits through the hole in the top of the strut tower and just gets held down by the strut cap, I think its possible, and if I can get the design tollerances just right with a slight tapering it should tap fit and stay set in place solidly - I think, but I want to...
Have a time down there Jill!, ask Dave if hes got any ideas what his thoughts are for the next mods to my car, head&cams or or has he got sommat different in mind? ;)
