Tom, do you mean the bit that replaces the standard top-of-dash radio display/clock/temp housing as below?

I wasnt meaning that it would actually invalidate your warranty, just that you could play the same line that some dealers play, basically anything deviating from the standard voids warranty - which is crap really.
Personally if you dont mind your speedo being out a bit, Id go for the 16s, but...
Id be up for it, I need to get a few things done first, but itd be good to have a run at somewhere close to home before treking all the way to York, itll give me a chance to sort things before a big York meet, so, game on!

Mate, Id get them to sort the alloys for ya, then tell them to swap the tyres to a standard size (195/45R16), and if they get shirty with you tell them that as this deviates from Renaults spec for the 172 Mk2 THEY would be invalidating your warranty if they sold you the car in that state...
Anyone out there got an idea on how to remove the passenger seat in a 172? any hints and tips would be gratefully received :), so is it possible to slide it off the runners whilst its still in the car? how many bolts to undo and which ones? is it obvious or am I gonna c**k it up somehow? (I dont...
Wayne - Well, if I knew how to get it out I would, so if anyone has got time to jot down what the socket sizes are etc and which bolts/nuts to undo Ill give it a go, Ive gotta give the scales back to my mate soon so the sooner the better.

Hmm, the tyres sizes are a bit different (Rolling diameter)
195/50R15 = 577mm
205/45/R16 = 590mm
Not a huge difference but it will mean you are going faster than your speedo reading. on UK Mk2 172s are 195/45/R16 giving a 582mm rolling diameter.
