couple of things , apparently the foam stuff is poo .....though i've never used it myself . i bought a turrini and have it as a spare but the boot board does sit right as the well is only really for a space saver . dont really wanna be stranded one time with no wheel and the kids/mrs in the car .

yes it has airbags , it also has the wheel well for a space saver .

ph-quick is the 172 mk2 phase 1 , recaros will cost around 1200quid give or take an arm or two also you wont get a 172 in mondial blue , pretty sure you wont , anyway

the flat spot will be at the same point on rev range , no real cure that i can think of other than a remap . but i'd look at other possibilities 1st .

get someone to rev the engine whilst you have a look under the bonnet , see if you can see the problem , might be the airbox .

check the airbox and elbow , might be loose or have a hole somewhere . is the noise from the front or rear ????

i bought the magnecor leads for mine , cant say they make alot of difference but like you said why not , they are cheaper than std ones . (i sold my old ones for 40 quid ) so in theory bought these for 30 .

yes , maybe psychologically but it did feel tighter going round corners/islands . plus it looks good in the engine bay .

sounds like its in limp mode due to a problem , got a pic of the dash thing .
