    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

Not even close. If you reread my post on the other page I've talked about how far the engines have come from their origins and how tuning parts shouldn't be too hard to source as they are based on the Duratec HE and Zetec SE. So in fact you've just confirmed they are a revision to those...

Odyssey ph1 172 pure track car. No tax discs here........

Great outputs for the mods then! I wonder if that long intake has a big part to play in that. If you do Oulton or Anglesey sometime I might see you about, would be cool to look over the car.

    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

This has nothing to do with the Zetec, I was using that as an example of Ford naming things to sound new and improved. And no the 4 cylinder alloy blocks are not derived from the 3 cylinder cast iron block...

    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

Only the 1.0 is a completely new design. The 1.6 is based around the Zetec SE which was then named a Duratec and has now become part of the Ecoboost family. The 2.0 is still the Duratec HE, same as the 2.3. There are revisions to it such as VCT, piston height, rod length etc. but its still the...

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Happy days, diff has been done at last and sent out today! So should be fitted to the box early next week and I'll have the box back late on next week.

    Cooksport or coilovers.

I've got mine set to soft with the Cooksports and cup shocks, it feels more stable, planted and less tail happy. I haven't tried the ARB on hard yet.

    Wideband Sensor for ITB's

Innovate is considered better by most, its quicker than the AEM IIRC, there's a lowdown on them somewhere. But as it'll be alongside the narrowband I'd just get whatever is cheapest with a decent gauge for monitoring. I had the innovate MTX as the gauge looked less chavvy than the AEM one...

Over all the miles you've done what's the MPG looking like? I fancy one of these to replace the Focus TDCI and Clio, 2 cars down to one :) I do about 100 miles per day, 50 each way on an easy dual carriageway. Its amazing how far the Yamaha Zetec SE engine has come with a decent turbo and twin...

    Cooksport or coilovers.

Cup shocks will fit a standard 172. I've got Cup shocks and cooksport springs, great on the road. I'm yet to try it on track. But for track I'd be looking at a decent coilover setup. Montube is the way forward. So that's Bilstein, H&R or AST. Bilstein are a nice compromise but might be a bit...

No, although they were also 14" 6J they had a bead around the rim and were ET36.5. They weren't available diamond cut. These are Mk3 Fiesta option alloys which had no bead and were diamond cut, ET32. I know far to many little facts like that about 80's and 90s Fords...its sad

    Electric window switch

When I get my car back I'm looking to sort out the drivers side window switch for the passenger window. The switch on the passenger side works ok so it should just be a faulty switch on the drivers side. Is it possible to get just the switch or do I need to get the complete grab handle and...

Exhaust Manifold Gasket and inlet manifold gaskets Prices from renault

I've got new gen Renault inlet gaskets and exhaust gasket spare. £5 each :) Also got some other gaskets and seals going spare too such as cam seals, breather seal etc. as I bought some individually and then had to get a head gasket set so doubled up on a lot of them.

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Thanks Andrew, the work is spot on as always. I took the head down to the garage yesterday with some more gaskets and the head bolts should arrive today so the engine can go together. I've been pestering Quaife too so hoopefully the diff will be done this week, not next week. Once...

I miss the reaction my Fiesta used to get. Took it down the promenade in Llandudno when the WRC was here last and all the farmers were out and about to watch the rallying. "Duw! Glywais ti'r turbo ar hwnna?!" I need another fast Ford in my life, none of this French sh!t (in bits may I add)...

Re: Ph1 172 Head should be here tomorrow :) so in preparation for the engine going back together I painted the rocker cover, breather and matched inlets. Also cleaned the sump. Got some gearbox oil for when I get the box back. I got my ITBs back from AT Power. They've had a full...

    Plugs, why ngk?

I run Denso IK20 gapped for the F4R, IK22 if you want boost. I've had issues with NGK in the past (cracked ceramics) within 500-1000 miles, 3 times personally and many a time I've helped people out to find they've had the same problem. That's only on Ford engines though but some of those were...
