    Hybrid 172/200 engine

So you want a 200 vvt setup on a 172. Shouldn't be too difficult. Cams, dephaser and standalone ECU capable of continuously variable timing control.

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Will do! Bought an ITG filter and some hose. I'll trim it to suit to get it as long as possible behind the headlight.

Do ph1 and ph2 (non-cup) share the same driveshafts? I know the Cup ones are longer.

How many people have had clutch go on a 1*2

Mine is on 87k, did the clutch as the box was off and I was doing other bits to the car but it has a fair bit of life left in it.

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 My mate is going to buy the XR2 on his own as a daily so I'll stick with the Clio. ITBs should be going tomorrow :( hope I don't regret selling them. Engine is ready to drop in more or less. New crank seal, billet flywheel, clutch and box to bolt on then it can go in with the 182...

    supercharger or turbo

Turbo can retain the aircon, supercharger can't Turbo is not as easy on the gearbox like a supercharger is. But you risk the gearbox with both tbh. Turbo gives you masses of midrange whereas a supercharger builds like a N/A motor. Just think of driving the car with a bigger engine. The Rotrex...

Pure motorsport top mount package vs whiteline arb

The RARB will help. You could always change the springs rates on the KTR coilovers. Do they have adjustable damping? Top mounts and strut brace won't help with roll.

    Catcams 422

Hmmm. I was thinking long term possibly, just having ideas with some high comp pistons. Mounting the MAP sensor slightly remotely with a very small fuel filter inline might help take the pulses out a bit. But yeah the duration and lift at TDC is a bit much for MAP. I can see what would happen...

Is there anyway of making them work on the standard ECU? Or is it completely impossible?

    The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy

Could you trailer it to Paul and get him to run it in on the rollers? I've done that before and it takes away some of the risks. If you're going to run it in yourself then running in high comp is no different really. I'd just get some good fuel like BP Ultimate 102ron in there. You need to get...

Re: Ph1 172 Me too :) 180-185 bhp would be nice, hoping the torque is pretty good rather than the power figure. tbh I'm hoping no-one buys them!! Its ok, She had bowel cancer for 2.5 years and the amount of ops and heartache she went through was incredible. She had a bowel screen done that...

    Rotrex repair/rebuild ideas?

It because its a C30-94 which coveres a large range of cars, especially those with 'got VTEC yo' so they will be popular. My only suggestion is you list it on ebay as requiring a rebuild and then use the funds towards a new one. What are they, £1600 new?

    ITG filter

It sold a couple of hours ago. I'll be close to tweeks on Saturday and they price match so I can pick one up for £43 brand new :) hopefully anyway!

    Dave's Clio 172

Looks great, nice colour. Do the cage white and it'll set off the wheels nicely, I think they look ok. A bit like Speedline 2118 without being a sheep. Personally I wouldn't change them. What's the engine spec?

    Jon's Trackday PH1 172 project thread

You'll be just fine with those ITBs. The Weber Alpha stuff is really good. They get a lot of bad press but that's only because the ECUs are locked and only certain places can map it. The make (IMO) the best Duratec kit on the market. Glad to hear your getting on ok with the Adaptronic ECU. I...

    MarkCup's Fiesta ST

It's more than lightly based. The MPS engine is already called the Ecoboost in the Mazda a few years ago. Anyway my original point still stands doesn't it ;) So now that's sorted I'm going to take the upper hand and stop cluttering Mark's thread.
