    Super racing blue ATE fluid.

Cheers for the heads up. I'm after some decent brake fluid to handle track days. Is this good stuff?

    sport to cup suspension

The caster is how far forwards or backwards the wheel is. I.E the closer to the front bumper the more caster

Hi Spec Pad choice for track

What size discs are you running?

    Federal RS-R

That's good then. Tbh I do that with any tyres but on my daily I do run tyres specifically for wet weather seeing as we get so much of it. With the Clio being a cheap, fun 2nd car I can't see the harm in fitting a set. I was leaning towards more of a road biased performance tyre but I might go...

    Federal RS-R

There's a few threads around about them but my concern is how good they will be for normal road driving when its damp or raining. How is the feedback when its wet? Obviously if there's standing water its time to slow down.

Just 172 cup shocks and springs If you want extra caster then the arms as well Hubs are the same

    5w30 ok ?

For light use it would be ok but I'd be wary of giving it any stick as it will get a bit thin as it warms up. I'd look at 5W40 as a minimum, 5W50 as an improvement for harder use. Comma 5W50 synthetic is a good oil, £25 posted for 5 litres. Very similar properties to the ELF 5W40 but better as...

    Cup Arm part number

Yes those are the correct numbers. Thanks Steve. I was told they apply to all Mk2 172 and 182 now and that non-Cup arms are no longer supplied. So If I purchase a pair based on the above numbers I should end up with Cup arms :)

    oil for 182 turbo?

I meant the same cold properties as standard oil but better at high temp :) so not wrong, just left the word standard out.

    oil for 182 turbo?

I would go for 5w50. Same cold properities but better at high temp for the turbo. Comma 5w50 synthetic is a good oil and very well priced. Although something like Millers CFS with a very high temp resistance helps with the peak temps encountered in the turbo core. It would help to run an oil...

    Cup Arm part number

Just been onto renaultpartsdirect and they said all they supply now are the Cup arms so there is one part number for all. They don't supply non-cup arms. Is this the case? I don't want to order a pair and end up with non-cup arms

Hmmm they seem to be non cup

    What wishbones are these?

How do I tell if these are cup wishbones with extra caster? I got them with a complete subframe, arb and other bits supposedly from a 182 cup. The arb matches up being 23/25 rather than 22/25

    Prima racing cams

Does anyone know the specs of these? I asked Prima racing directly and the reply I got was.... "If you fit these cams on standard timing marks, you will achieve the figures we have stated." The price isn't bad but no real details :( are they the same as the Piper cams? INR F4R Fast Road...

I've had good experiences with piper reprofiled cams before, I had shims supplied with them for my ST170 engine and it made good figures.

Stripping and freshening up the side strips

The side strips on my ph1 have been sprayed silver with a rattle can...badly... I want to do them black again so I'll need to strip the paint and give them a freshen up. What are the best products to do this?

Just put a Sparco front brace on my ph1 172 and the bonnet needs to be pushed closed rather than dropped but it doesn't seem to be touching. Anyone else had an issue?

    Steering wheel removal

Right, its cold, wet and windy and I need to get my steering wheel off my ph1 172 fairly quickly. Can anyone tell me how long to leave it after disconnecting the battery and what size sockets etc. are required?
