Ph1 172 with B14s.
What is the optimum camber, caster and toe for road use with the odd track day thrown in? Is it worth messing with the caster? Also how much rear camber..1, 1.5, 2deg.?
Obviously I want good handling but without sacrificing tyres. Tyres are 195/50/15 Yoko AD08
Phase 1 172 that will be running the engine dynamics 230 setup. The 2.5" bore will be fine for that setup, it's the cat that will hold it back so long term I'll get a sports cat to suit. If the extra silencer in the centre section will keep the noise down in the cabin I'd rather have that in...
B14 for me, yes they have the downside of no damping adjustment and the rear are a seperate shock and spring with an adjustable seat for the spring but they are the perfect fast road setup IMO. They are great to just drive to a track day and drive home again not touching any settings.
However...
It'll be going on a car with standard inlet, cams, turbo and cat so there won't be any extra intake noise going through the exhaust and the turbo and cat will help quieten the exhaust down too. I want it pretty quiet so there's no noise intrusion but after 5k or so when I'm giving it some I'd...
Yes. But the total area over which pressure is applied by the 4 pistons is greater and more even, also there is no flex like with a standard calliper.
I know that they will be better than standard, no doubting that. But I've had cars before where people have said "just uprated pads and discs...
Is the Jam-Sport 295mm kit worth the outlay? More for track days rather than the road as the car will have full interior etc so a bit concerned about fade on the standard setup after a while.
Also what discs will replace the ones in the kit? Are they custom or perhaps 5 stud discs redrilled...
What is the ESP like on the Ph2 Clios? Is it quite invasive or does it work well. I'm more concerned about it on track days.
Also does the 172 cup suffer much without ABS?
Looks a good kit for the money. Compared it to the Rotrex charged graphs and the torque is very similar with a bit more mid range but not too much. Peak bhp is lower.
Anyone got one fitted

That's ok then, I'll be running AD08 or TR1R so that'll help.
I like the KTec setup as it has all the brackets, injectors, hard pipes with beaded ends. Don't like the price...
A rotrex setup alone will cost about £1500+vat, then the cost of everything else on top. and £1300 for a DTA S60...
Looking at the Safety Devices 6 point bolt in cage with removable diagonal and harness bar. This is exactly what I'm after.
But...
Will I still have full use of the rear seats as SD suggest?
Will the glovebox still open (it looks quite close in pictures)?
Do the side air bags need removing...
I've been looking at the Rotrex kit for the 172 and 182.
I'd be happy with 240-250bhp, that would be enough for road and track to have a bit of fun without getting too serious.
However I like the sound of being able to use a standard clutch, is it true that they are up to the job?
I'd miss...
Hello all,
My real name is Tom and I currently own a Focus RS engined (Zetec turbo) Mk2 Fiesta as a fun car but this will be going in a month or so as after 25 years it has succumbed to rust on the OS sill. It's pretty quick so I'm after something similar in power and a Rotrex charged 172 would...
