I've just uninstalled it from my Note2 as its slow and kept crashing. Sent numerous bug reports so I've done my part... back to TTHD which works fine altgough I may try it again next week on my S4
The ECU manages the running of the engine (fuelling and ignition). To do this correctly it needs to know a few variables such as load, air temp, engine temp, etc to correctly work out what math to throw in so it puts a smile on your face when you hit the go pedal.

It could also be related to the speedo cable on a Mk1. Start by carrying out some basic service checks like does the throttle cable seem stiff, are the wires from the TPS in good condition, PAS pressure switch wiring okay, IACV clean and wiring okay?

Who was this guy that diagnosed it and did he recommend you change the flux capacitor also? So its smelling like it was running rich therefore change the fuel filter!?! I thought he diagnosed a shafted coolant temp sensor... so that wouldn't at all cause it to run rich then, no?
Deffo a broken ring that chap... visual inspection needed to confirm but assuming its not damaged anything exiting the vehicle you should be alright fixing this yourself
As asked earlier, have you actually got diesel at the injectors? You can prime with the bulb all you like but if there's air between the pressure vessel and the injector pipes it will not fire. Also, manual cracking will not generate enough pressure to self bleed an airlock which is why you need...
